Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Multi-Active Nuit Moisturisers

For the last six weeks or so, my skin has really improved. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know I have super dry skin but I suffer from frequent blemishes along my jawline and have done since I was 14 and I get pretty miserable that at 28, I haven’t left my teenage skin woes behind. Due to my skin being so susceptible to breakouts, I was always very cautious with what products I used on my face incase they caused further breakouts. However my skin has improved considerably ever since I’ve adopted an almost gluten-free diet so I’ve really been enjoying trying new skincare products which will treat my dry skin without worrying about exacerbating my blemish prone skin. The newest skincare additions to my collection are the Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Nuit Moisturisers which became my favoured day and night cream after just one use.

Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Multi-Active Nuit Moisturisers

The new Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Multi-Active Nuit Moisturisers are said to be for those with a busy lifestyle and is inspired by the latest scientific advances with cutting edge technology combined with the power of plants.

The Multi-Active creams exclusively contain Teasel which helps to revitalise and protect tired, stressed skin and helps fight free radicals. The Clarins Multi-Active range includes three versions of the Clarins Multi-Active Jour cream (one for all skin types, one for dry skin and one which contains an SPF20) and there are two versions of the Clarins Multi-Active Nuit cream (one for normal to combination skin and one for normal to dry skin).

Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Multi-Active Nuit Moisturisers

I have the Clarins Multi-Active Jour All Skin Types version £42 and the Clarins Multi-Active Nuit Normal to Combination Skin version £44. The packaging of both creams is just gorgeous, with the Day Cream being in a pastel pink weighty glass jar and the Night Cream is in a pastel blue weighty glass jar. I really like that the creams are in different coloured jars so they’re easy to tell apart, and they look lovely on my nightstand.

Due to the glass packaging, the creams wouldn’t travel well but you could easily depot some of each cream into travel friendly little pots if you did want to take them with you. What I particularly liked about the creams is that Clarins have included a sachet sample of the night cream in the day cream’s box and a sample of the day cream in the night cream box which is just genius marketing and you’d definitely want the matching pair after trying them both.

Clarins Multi-Active Jour – All Skin Types 50ml

Clarins say;

The new Multi-Active Day cream for all skin types prevent and visibly correct the appearance of fine lines thanks to new Myrothamnus extract. The new extract minimises the impact of daily stress to help keep skin smooth and radiant. With technology powered by plant extracts and the latest breakthroughs in botanical research, these treatments visibly diminish the first signs of ageing, restore radiance, hydrate and maintain younger looking skin.

Ingredients/Benefits; • Encapsulated teasel extract: protects and prolongs youthful skin. • Free teasel extract: revive the radiance. • Organic California poppy extract: helps absorb visible damage of late nights and night-time awakenings. The skin is smooth and toned upon waking up. • Hyaluronic acid complex: moisturises. • Organic kiwi extract and organic shea butter: nourish and comfort the skin. • Exclusive Clarins new-generation anti-pollution complex.

The cream has a slightly thicker consistency compared to the night cream which surprised me, as night creams are normally have the thicker formula. The day cream has a lovely yet subtle floral scent, with a gel-like consistency which melts into the skin with very little effort, and it’s very lightweight so I can go ahead and apply my primer and makeup almost instantly.

It feels delightfully soothing on the skin which I love in the mornings especially as it helps to reduce any puffiness. The formula is nice and gentle and doesn’t sting nor irritate my sensitive skin and I’ve even been using it around my eyes as an eye cream as it’s so soothing and hydrating. My tiny dehydration lines are plumped so they become barely visible, and my skin just looks so much better for applying this cream and I look forward to using it every morning.

Clarins Multi-Active Nuit – Normal to Combination Skin 50ml

Clarins say;

The nourishing Multi-Active Night cream contains new Golden poppy extract which revitalises and protects the skin to reduce signs of lack of sleep. Preventing and visibly correcting the appearance of fine lines, while comforting the skin. With technology powered by plant extracts and the latest breakthroughs in botanical research, these treatments visibly diminish the first signs of ageing, restore radiance, hydrate and maintain younger looking skin.

Ingredients/Benefits: • Encapsulated teasel extract: protects and prolongs youthful skin.

As I mentioned above, the night cream has a lighter consistency and is more of a cream formula than a gel-like one of the day cream. The night cream contains California Poppy which is a flower that closes at night to regenerate itself for its proven ability to help compensate for the harmful effects of late nights and interrupted sleep.

The extract helps to stimulate the synthesis of collagen and fight the harmful effects of free radical in the skin, to leave skin appearing visibly smoothed and toned upon waking. The night cream has more of a herbal scent compared to the day cream, but it absorbs quickly with a little going a long way similar to the day cream.

What I particularly like about this night cream is that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or smothered in product like some night creams have the tendency to do. I love that this is a lighter night cream, but it still delivers the hydration and comfort of a richer formula but it feels a lot nicer on the skin. Due it containing shea butter, it really helps to nourish my dry patches and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth in the mornings and is without a doubt the nicest night cream I’ve ever tried.

I think the Clarins Multi-Active Jour and Multi-Active Nuit Moisturisers are a dynamic duo which I thoroughly enjoy using, and I feel that it’s going to be hard for any other day or night cream to impress me as much as these have done…
