Elizabeth Arden is a beauty brand I’ve not had very much experience with.. I own a few of their products, but I haven’t purchased anything recently. When I read about the new Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara, I was excited to try it as it boasted some pretty impressive claims offering dramatic volume, length and lift – could it be the perfect mascara? The Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara launches today – the 1st of February, and is available in two shades; Stunning Black and Stunning Brown and retails for £22.
Elizabeth Arden say;
“Grand Entrance Mascara amplifies lashes with every stroke. Featuring a distinctive, 3-in-1 triangular brush technology, it creates customized and dramatic lash effects. Its ergonomic curved reservoir precisely transfers the perfect amount of product onto lashes for outrageous body without clumping.”
The Grand Entrance Mascara contains the following key ingredients; Lash Building Complex —A vitamin fortified peptide complex that locks onto lashes like a magnet for volume and lift. Olive Esters —An emollient-rich extract that coats and separates individual lashes, helping to condition, treat, and protect lashes for clump- and flake-free definition. Rice Bran Esters —A vitamin B complex and essential fatty acid-rich extract that helps to condition lashes for an overall healthier and plumper appearance. Carnauba Esters —A moisturizing extract that helps to support the appearance of longer lashes.
The clinical tests showed the following results; 162% increase in curl, 100% of women felt that their lashes appeared longer and amplified, 96% of women felt that their lashes appeared defined with a dramatic effect and 93% of women felt that their lashes were instantly lifted.
I couldn’t wait to try this mascara.. I’ve never seen so many claims, and information surrounding a mascara before. The packaging is amazing.. a bright red metallic tube, with black detailing which really stand out within my everyday makeup drawer – I don’t know why most mascara brands create black packaging, I think bold and bright packaging like this is much better.
The Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara wand is slightly curved, with silicone bristles but the bristles are slightly flexible (unlike the Benefit They’re Real! Mascara which I find too spiky) so they bend with your lashes which I think is why it helps to curl the lashes as well as it does. The top of the wand has lots of bristles which point upwards which you can’t see very well in this photo but I tend to wipe off the excess product around the top before using it as the top bristles are really handy for catching every lash on your outer corners of your lashline.
I absolutely love this Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara. The bristles vary in length and width so they really do coat every lash, whilst offering great separation and as the bristles are all quite short, you can reach the base of your lashes without covering your eyelids in mascara so you get good volume too. I honestly can’t find any negatives with this mascara.. it lengthens, it separates, it gives volume and it leaves my lashes feeling soft instead of feeling hard and crispy.
I’ve found that it doesn’t smudge or flake throughout the day, nor does it transfer – it really does tick all of the boxes, and I like that it’s quite a thin, wet formula as it shouldn’t dry out very quickly (unlike the YSL mascaras which have a thicker formula, which dries out within a matter of weeks). I very much need to explore more of the Elizabeth Arden makeup range, and would love any product recommendations you may have….
