If I was forced to choose just one skincare product that I could use for the rest of my life, it would have to be Bioderma Micellar Water. I’ve tried many drugstore alternatives, but for me nothing else compares to Bioderma and it’s something I’ll repurchase forever. Bioderma is becoming a lot more accessible with an extensive range of their products now being stocked on Escentual, alongside the newest UK Bioderma addition; the Bioderma Micelle Solution Makeup Removing Wipes.
The Bioderma Micelle Solution Makeup Removing Wipes are suitable for all skin types, and each wipe is infused with micellar solution which cleanses the skin with fatty acid esters that are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes. The wipes are said to be suitable for those with sensitive skin and eyes, and contain soothing allantoïn works to prevent the skin from feeling irritated after every use.
Each pack of Bioderma Micelle Solution Makeup Removing Wipes contains 25 wipes and they’re alcohol-free, paraben-free, phenoxyethanol-free and hypoallergenic. The wipes are packaged within a red packet with a sticker which does lose its stick after a few openings, so I’d have preferred a plastic top to help prevent the wipes from drying out.
Bioderma Micelle Solution Makeup Removing Wipes
I know people see face wipes as being a massive skincare crime, but I personally like using them to remove my makeup before going in with a proper cleanser to cleanse my skin. I never use face wipes in isolation, but I won’t be made to feel bad for using them as my opinion is surely it’s better to use a face wipe as gentle as these, than to go to sleep with my makeup plastered all over my face?
I particularly like that these wipes are alcohol free and are gentle as my sensitive skin can become inflamed very easily although they do contain fragrance whereas the micellar water doesn’t which is strange. The Bioderma Micelle Solution Makeup Removing Wipes are without a doubt the thickest wipes I’ve ever used.. they feel like a piece of cloth, and are slightly textured which helps to loosen your makeup.
They don’t really have a scent to them and they’re nice and damp, although I do worry they’ll dry out towards the bottom thanks to the un-sticky label. In terms of makeup removal, they do the job but not as quickly as the Bioderma Micellar Water but they certainly do remove my makeup. I’ve found they’re better on the days where I’m not wearing heavy eye makeup as they so gentle they don’t work as effectively as the water does on a cotton pad.
I think if you’re going to commit a skincare crime by using face wipes, you should use ones which are as kind and gentle on your skin as possible and these wipes are definitely that. I had hoped they’d cut through my makeup amazingly like the water formula but on days where I’m wearing minimal makeup, and not wearing liquid liner, I find them to be ideal and they don’t leave my skin feeling depleted of moisture and uncomfortable which is a big bonus.
