Beauty boxes are so hit and miss which I suppose is what makes them exciting, as you never know what you’re going to get. The February Birchbox 2016 was amazing, so the Birchbox March 2016 had a lot to live up to and sadly I don’t think it compares.
There wasn’t one disappointing product in last month’s box and I was so genuinely impressed with everything, but this month’s Birchbox is a little lacklustre in my opinion, here’s what was inside my box…
Firstly is a 5ml sample of the This Works Deep Sleep + Pillow Spray. I’m a massive fan of the This Works Pillow Sprays as they genuinely do work wonders on helping me to drift off, so this sample is a nice way for people to try them for themselves.
Then we have a travel size of the Polaar Ice Source Moisturising Gel which is a standard moisturiser but it doesn’t particularly wow me as it feels and smells quite ordinary but time will tell.
Next is a 15ml sample of the Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm and a 20ml sample of the Amika Nourishing Hair Mask.
I’m looking forward to trying the straightening balm as I’m always on the look out for products which can help tame the frizz but I’m not excited about another tiny hair mask sample sadly.
The last two products are the two most decent within the box in my opinion, and they’re full size. The Model Co More Brows is something I’ve reviewed previously, but it’s similar to Benefit’ Gimme Brow in that it’s a tinted brow gel which I really like so I’m happy to have a backup in my collection, and the shade is perfect for my brows.
Lastly we have the Arrow Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm which is a pale pink lipbalm which turns bright pink when you apply it to your lips. The balm feels really lovely on the lips, and has a subtle minty scent which I like. I’d never heard of Arrow Boost but it’s actually a Birchbox house brand, so maybe we can expect to see more of their products in future boxes.
I’d love to know your opinion on this month’s box? I’m happy with two full sized makeup items, but sadly the other items didn’t wow me which is disappointing seeing as their February box really was fantastic.
