I don’t know about you, but there’s just something about an high end lipstick which makes me feel fancy (maybe I’m just weird). I could use an highend foundation or mascara, but I just don’t feel as good as I do when I apply an highend lipstick which I think I put down to the packaging of the luxury lipsticks, and the packaging of the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lasting Satin Lip Color is just gorgeous. The Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lasting Satin Lip Colors are available in a total of 19 shades and they retail for £27 each.
The Rouge D’Armani formula claims to have an innovative colour bond technology which offers full lasting colour, high precision contours and exceptional comfort all in one. It has a pretty bold claim of upto 8 hours of uniform colour leaving impeccable lines without feathering or fading.
The packaging of the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lasting Satin Lip Color lipsticks is truly beautiful, with the lipsticks having a shiny black metallic casing, with a magnetic lid and an GA silver symbol on the front. The outer packaging isn’t just straight up and down either, it has a little twist in the design which just sits so comfortably in the hand during application.
The lipstick bullet itself has a GA etched into it, and has a really precise, rounded tip which is amazing for a super precise application rather than the typical pointed tip of a typical lipstick. I much prefer the shape of this lipstick as the curve won’t disappear with a few uses like typical lipsticks so it allows for precise applications every time which is essential with a lipstick shade as bold as this.
I have the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lasting Satin Lip Color in the shade 400 Rouge which is just the ultimate, blue toned red which I think looks beautiful on every skintone and it works wonders on making your teeth look really white thanks to the blue undertones. I’m not normally a big fan of bold red shades as I’m such a chicken when it comes to colour, but this red is just unlike any other red I’ve tried and I love it so much.
The Rouge D’Armani formula is very soft, creamy and intensely pigmented in just one swipe so I was worried it might have been a little too soft for a bold red shade like this, and it would end up moving around on the lips and making me look like a clown but the formula is lovely.
When first applied, Rouge has a pretty sheen which does fade within a couple of hours to a satin finish which still feels comfortable on the lips. I do find myself checking my lips in the mirror every hour or so as I’m so paranoid when it comes to red lipstick, but it really doesn’t bleed or feather which is insane for a non-matte, creamy satin lipstick.
Until now, my favourite highend lipstick formula was the NARS Audacious Lipstick formula but now the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani formula has definitely taken my top spot. I love how easy application is thanks to the shape of the lipstick, and the creaminess allows the lipstick to apply so smoothly and even, even if you have a couple of dry patches and it doesn’t exacerbate your dry patches and I seriously need to add a couple of the nude shades from the range to my collection.
