There are a few brands which I decided I wanted to try more of this year, and one of those brands is Kiehls, after trying them for the first time last year. The first product of theirs that I’ve tried this year is the Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque 75ml £28 which Kiehls describe as being an ‘instant facial’. The Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque works to brighten and energise the look of dull, fatigued skin and helps the skin to regain its natural, healthy appearance.
The Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is formulated with cranberry and turmeric to help visibly even the look of skintone whilst crushed cranberry seeds gently exfoliate for smoother, brighter, illuminated-looking skin.
The mask is a very pale yellow colour, and has a thick consistency which reminds me of a mud mask, and it contains lots of seed particles. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the scent of the mask and I felt like turmeric and cranberry was a slightly bizarre combination for a face mask, but the smell is actually quite nice.
To me, the mask has the same scent as a clay mask yet it has an almost spiced fruit twist which isn’t at all unpleasant which I’m very pleased about, as I can’t stand masks which don’t smell very nice especially if you have to wear them for quite a while.
Due to the seeds, I like to apply the mask over the sink as the seeds can drop from the mixture as I smear the mask across my skin which can be a little messy but the majority of the seeds do stay within the mask, and stick to my skin whilst I’m wearing the mask. I apply a very thin layer all over my face, and it dries quickly within a couple of minutes and I tend to leave it for around ten to fifteen minutes before removal.
When it comes to removing the mask, I’ve found the best way is to use a warm flannel in circular motions so the cranberry seeds gently buff the skin whilst the flannel removes the mask. The seeds are quite sticky, and a few need to removed individually from the skin with my fingertips but it’s still a relatively easy mask to remove in comparison to the GLAMGLOW Youthmud.
When I remove the Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, my skin is left instantly softened, smooth, cleansed and brightened. I really didn’t expect the cranberry seeds to be so effective at gently exfoliating the skin, but they really do a great job at smoothing my skin without causing any irritation or redness. I particularly like using this mask on my cheeks and forehead, where my skin can look a little dull and lacklustre due to my dry skin and this mask really helps to brighten my complexion.
