Over the last couple of years, I’ve become a really big fan of La Roche-Posay and I’m yet to be left disappointed by anything I’ve tried. I’m always intrigued by their new product releases and I was particularly intrigued by their newest launch; the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum 24Hr Rehydrating Smoothing Concentrate which is from the La Roche Posay Hydraphase range which specially targeted towards those with dry and extremely dry skin.
The La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum 30ml is £19.90 from Escentual and from reading its description, I knew it was a product I needed within my skincare regime as I have very dry and dehydrated skin. The La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum is a concentrated gel for both dehydrated and sensitive skin, and La Roche Posay recommend applying it daily – morning and evening under your usual skincare regime and follow with your chosen moisturiser.
The moisturising facial serum is enriched with a highly concentrated blend of La Roche-Posay’s Thermal Spring Water, which is known for its soothing and anti-irritating properties, as well as hyaluronic acid fragments which immediately infuse the skin with deep hydration. The La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum has quite a thick consistency for a serum, and I find that I need between three to four pumps for both my face and neck.
Considering how thick the gel is, I was surprised by how lightweight it is as it goes in very easily with little effort and feels like water as you massage it into the skin and you can’t see it or feel it on the skin. The ingredients list includes fragrance, but I cannot detect any scent in the serum at all which is good for sensitive skins which are aggravated by fragranced skincare products.
I really like how lightweight this serum is on my skin, and it doesn’t ball up when I apply further skincare products or my primer. This is definitely the most gentle and soothing serum I’ve ever tried and I find it perfect for the mornings but I do like something a touch more hydrating in the evenings such as the Vichy Aqualia Serum although sometimes that can sting a little when I’ve used a chemical exfoliator so I like to be able to alternate between the two depending on my skin’s sensitivity.
I think theIntense Serum is a great all rounder serum which helps to hydrate, soothe and plump the skin and it’s incredibly gentle which I really appreciate for when my sensitive skin flares up or I fancy a more soothing serum which I imagine I’ll favour even more as we approach the warmer months.
