For Spring 2016, one of the newest skincare releases is the Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks £17.50. I’ve always liked the Benefit B.right skincare range so I was looking forward to giving them a try as Benefit don’t have any other types of face masks within their skincare range. The Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks are packaged within a cute little cardboard box which is designed to look like a metal suitcase to follow the whole spy theme of the POREfessional range.
The eight individual masks are packaged within plastic packets with a green ‘button’ on the front, with the packets being designed to look like a top secret information file which I again I think is quite cute. I know the Benefit branding isn’t for everyone, but I personally really like it but I know it’s not something my mum would like but Benefit is definitely marketed towards a younger audience.
This superhero-strength, dual-sided face mask cleans out AND smooths out the look of pores around your nose, forehead and chin. 3…2…1…WIPEOUT! The specially textured fabric woven from cottony fibers helps exfoliate & remove pore impurities. Contains mushroom extract known to clarify pores.
94% said it cleans out pores.
92% said skin feels tightened.
89% said skin looks smooth.
To use the Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks, you take the packet and press the ‘button’ firmly, which then dispenses the serum into the pore mask. The first time I used the mask, I actually jumped as the button squirts the serum so quickly and vigorously – it’s definitely a weird process to use the mask, and not one I’ve seen before with other masks.
Once all of the serum has been squeezed out of the button, it then soaks the cotton pore mask which you get to by opening the packet. Then pore mask is a lot bigger than any other pore mask/pore strip I’ve seen before as it covers the entirety of the nose and then almost half the cheeks so the majority of your pores are covered by the mask.
You place the mask onto the nose with the smoother side against your skin, but you can use the mask on the forehead or chin should you wish to but it’s a little too big in my opinion but you could cut it into smaller pieces. After leaving the mask in place for ten minutes you simply use the other side to “wipe off pore problem area”.
The first thing which I found strange was that the mask doesn’t dry or set like other pore masks I’ve tried.. it remains wet and slippery so you have to tilt your head back or it just slides off your face. Then the whole wiping off the pore problem area – it doesn’t wipe anything off, or remove black heads or anything like that so it feels like a pointless step.
Once I’ve removed the Benefit The POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks, my skin does tingle slightly which I put down to it ‘working’ but it is slightly uncomfortable but my skin is very sensitive so it might be better suited for oilier skin types. My skin really did feel nice and smooth after use, but I couldn’t notice any immediate improvement to my skin.
However the next day, I did break out in two places where the mask had been and I never breakout around my nose so I know it was 100% this mask, but I guess it could be down to the mask drawing out impurities but it did leave my skin feeling quite dry and stripped so I don’t think the masks are for skin as dry and dehydrated as mine sadly but I do think they’re most suited for oily to combination skin types.
