Clinique are on fire with their new releases right now, with their latest release being the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour and Primers which are described as being a luscious pop of liquid, high-shine colour in one, full-coverage coat. The Pop Lacquer Lip Colour and Primers are available in a total of ten shades and the claims are; Luxurious yet lightweight formula, Full coverage colour, Built in primer for added longevity and up to 6 hours of weartime.
From the ten shades on offer, I have the shade Nude Pop 09 £16 as I love a good nude lip colour, and I couldn’t wait to try it as I really like wearing lip glosses as I find them to be not as high maintenance as lipsticks are.
The packaging is really nice and is a little similar to the Clinique Lip Pop’s in that they have a rectangular shaped tube with a silver metallic lid and the base is the colour of the lipstick, except with the Pop Lacquer and Primers, the base is clear so you can see how much gloss you have left.
I really like the applicator as it’s a slightly rounded doe-foot sponge tip which is just perfect for a nice and even coverage of colour and the gloss glides on very smoothly over the lips and I find that the applicator holds enough product for me to do both of my lips without having to dip it back into the tube for more product.
The consistency of the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour is quite thick, so I was initially worried that it may have been quite sticky but I needn’t have worried as it’s not at all sticky, and is really comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation of the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour in Nude Pop is really impressive for a gloss, but I like that I can wear a sheer light layer or build up for an almost fully opaque finish and the weartime isn’t too bad at all for a gloss which is around three to four hours depending on eating and drinking.
Due to the glossy finish, it is a product you need to occasionally check on to make sure you haven’t smeared it across your face but apart from that it’s very easy to wear and is one of the most comfortable glosses I’ve tried. I’m not sure they’re really a lip lacquer like the name suggests, but they’re a great no-fuss lip product which leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth after it wears off which is always a winner.
