Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Total Effect Intensity Mascara

The Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Total Effect Intensity Mascara is the newest addition to my mascara wardrobe, and it has become one of my top five favourite mascaras already. Black Ecstasy features a lightweight formula with an unique brush which achieves the ‘ultimate volume, length, and curl in a flash’. The brush is described as being cylindrical and multidirectional and is designed to capture and coat every lash. 

Formulated with four patented, multi-effect waxes for seamless application, this mascara is formulated with exclusive colour-boosting polymers to coat lashes with intense black pigment. The wand is an amazing bright red which I really love as it feels a lot more luxurious, and the red stem was inspired by the red carpet, to help create red carpet ready lashes.

From what I can gather, there are three shades available of the Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Total Effect Intensity Mascara; Obsidian Black, Navy and Wood, and I have the Obsidian Black shade as I only ever wear black mascara as I don’t find brown to be very effective for my eyelashes.

The packaging of the mascara is just stunning, with a black almost lacquer-like tube with the GA symbol on the lid, with the red stem for the wand, and there’s a really good plug within the neck of the tube which scoops off any excess mascara which is fantastic as it keeps the brush coated in mascara, but not overwhelmingly so that you end up looking like a panda after wiggling it through your lashes.

Giorgio Armani recommend working the wand through your lashes in a zigzag motion in order to thoroughly coat the lashes and I find that this application method works really well and I also find that it’s a little less messy than just combing the wand through the lengths. I particularly like that the wand tapers slightly towards the end as it allows me to catch the tiny outer lashes, and my pathetic bottom lashes with minimal effort and minimal mess as I’m such a messy mascara applier no matter how I apply it, which I put down to the fact my lashes are practically non-existent.

The Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Total Effect Intensity Mascara is one of the most volumising mascaras that I’ve ever tried; it gives so much volume and drama that I almost feel like it’s a little OTT for everyday use, but in my opinion, you can never have enough volume in your lashes so I love how amazing my lashes look when wearing this mascara.

I wouldn’t describe the Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Total Effect Intensity Mascara as being a lengthening mascara, so if it’s length you’re after, you’d be best passing on this little beauty, but if you like thick, volumised and intense lashes than this is an absolute winner, and what’s more, it doesn’t flake or smudge even after eight hours.

Yes it’s a pricier mascara, but I’ve wasted so much money on cheaper drugstore mascaras and I don’t bat an eyelid and it’ll last for at least three months which works out at £9 a month which I think is pretty reasonable for a product which makes such a massive difference to my eyes.
