L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection

I feel the need to start this post with an admission, and that is I’m ashamed to say I’ve only tried one L’Occitane product which is pretty crazy considering they’re such a high quality brand whose products are raved about by so many. I don’t even know why I haven’t gotten round to trying any of their products but I’m very happy that I’ve now been able to try a few more products from the brand and I am so impressed, and equally kicking myself for not trying them sooner. L’Occitane have launched their most recent collection this month; the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection which consists of eight different products, and the collection focuses on the innovative benefits of peony extract, which is their star patented ingredient. The Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection contains the new Paeonia Lactiflora extract is very rich in natural plant sugars which targets action on cells to correct irregularities in the skin’s texture over the long term to reveal a fresher and more radiant, natural complexion.

I have three products from the new L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection which I’ve been trialing since their launch; the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Makeup Remover, the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting 2 in 1 Scrub and the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner.

Next up within the Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection is the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Makeup Remover 200ml £19 is described as being a refreshing gel which effectively removes impurities and make-up, including waterproof make-up, from the face, eyes and lips. The remover is enriched with a skin-perfecting extract, with a glide-on texture which reveals skin that feels incredibly clean, supple and velvety, leaving the complexion looking fresh and more luminous.

I really love that this makeup remover has a pump as I can sit it on the side of my skin and not have to faff about with lids or caps with wet hands which is so much easier, and I simply dispense two pumps into my hands and work into the skin with my fingers but the directions say you can use a cotton pad should you wish to, and then rinse.

I don’t tend to use a separate makeup remover as I usually use a micellar water to remove my makeup before using a proper cleanser, but I’ve really been enjoying this makeup remover gel to remove my makeup as it feels a lot kinder on the skin, and more of an ‘experience’ than simply using a micellar water on a cotton pad. I find that this gel is very effective at breaking down my makeup, yet it’s super gentle on my skin and doesn’t sting my eyes whatsoever.

The L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting 2 in 1 Scrub 100ml £19 contains peony extract, delicate micro-granules, and micro-exfoliant active ingredients is described as an innovative gel which boasts two sensuous skincare products in one. A mask and an exfoliator, its unique texture is transformed into an oil to cleanse, gently exfoliate, and reveal perfect-looking skin. The skin’s texture looks smoother and more even while pores appear minimised.

The consistency of the scrub is a clear gel with tiny granules which I really appreciate, as I know manual exfoliators aren’t particularly helpful for the skin but these granules are just so fine that they’re ideal for gently buffing the skin without damaging the skin’s surface. To use the gel as a scrub I massage a £2 coin sized amount onto dry skin and then add a little water to emulsify and continue massaging my skin before rinsing.

When I use it as a mask I apply the same amount of product but leave it to sit on my skin for around five minutes before massaging and rinsing away. I’m not sure I could call this a mask and a scrub, it’s more of a treatment scrub which works best when left on the skin so I prefer to use it as a ‘mask’ rather than a scrub to ensure I get the maximum benefits from the active ingredients. My skin loves this scrub, and it really does leave my skin looking radiant and more refined which I use once a week, but if you had oily skin you could potentially use it more frequently.

The L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Toner 200ml £15 is the last in my trio, and is a gentle toner which completes the makeup removal process and revives the complexion with natural balancing actives. It is enriched with the perfecting peony extract to leave the skin hydrated with a smoother and more radiant appearance.

I love a good toner, as does my skin and this really is a lovely toner. I dispense the toner onto a cotton pad and gently swipe it across my skin after I’ve removed my makeup and it just leaves my skin feeling so incredibly smooth, but also quite hydrated too. I really love the subtle scent, and I think it’s such a nice toner to use before applying my makeup in the mornings.

I would love to know if you have a favourite L’Occitane product? Do you like the sound of this new L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection?
