Morphe Brushes are one of the most buzzed about beauty brands right now, and for good reason too as their makeup brushes are amazing as are their eyeshadow palettes and they’re extending their range constantly to meet demand. I really do love their brushes, and their palettes but I’ve found their solo eyeshadows to be a little disappointing so I’m no longer purchasing any more of their solo eyeshadows, instead I’m going to stick to their palettes which I’m yet to be disappointed by. Morphe Brushes released four new 12 shadow palettes as part of their ‘Pick Me Up’ collection, and I purchased the Morphe 12S Soul of Summer Eyeshadow Palette as it looked so pretty, and it was only $14.99/£10.42 on the Morphe website.
I’ve seen people complain about the basic packaging of the Morphe palettes but I personally don’t mind it at all – I’d much rather pay less for basic, functional packaging than an over inflated price tag and the lack of mirror doesn’t bother me as I always use my own mirror anyway. The pans within the palette are pretty generous in size as they’re 1″ x 1″, and they’re laid out in rows of four within the palette with a good amount of space between the pans.
The top row has the palest shade, the middle row is quite cool in tone and the bottom row are warmer. There are no matte shades within the Morphe 12S Soul of Summer Eyeshadow Palette so I do have to delve into my Makeup Geek Shadows for a few mattes but apart from that, this palette has a really great mixture of shades and tones.
As you can see from the swatches, the pigmentation of the Morphe 12S Soul of Summer Eyeshadow Palette is incredible especially when you consider each shadow is only 86 pence each. There isn’t one disappointing shadow within the palette, and every shade is smooth, buttery soft and easy to blend.
I knew this palette was going to be a great palette as Morphe Palettes are always pretty impressive, but I didn’t expect the shadows to be this good considering how affordable it is but the quality really is on par with some higher end shadows and these shades have very little fall out too.
If you’ve never tried any of the Morphe Palettes yet, I think the Morphe 12S Soul of Summer Eyeshadow Palette is the perfect starter palette as it contains such a good mix of tones but I would recommend any of their palettes as they’re all genuinely amazing, and are definitely worth the hype.
