When NARS launched their range of Audacious Lipsticks, I was initially overwhelmed as there are 40 shades in total but I knew I had to try the new formula as it sounded amazing. The NARS Audacious Lipsticks are described as being longlasting and saturated in colour, with one stroke full coverage wear which is smoothing and nourishing on the lips. After deliberating for a long time on which shade to purchase, I opted for the NARS Anita Audacious Lipstick £24 which NARS call a ‘rose’.
The packaging of the Audacious Lipsticks is just stunning. They have a black, matte metal casing with NARS written in a slightly glossy finish, and the lid is magnetic too which just adds to the luxury. The packaging is really sleek, and plain but I absolutely love it and it feels so weighty in your hand during application.
I personally wouldn’t describe the NARS Anita Audacious Lipstick as being a rose, as for me it’s more of a medium dark pink with some browny tones which pulls quite warm on the lips. From looking at swatches online, it appears that Anita looks so different on everyone depending on their skintone and undertone but on me, it’s very much a browny pink when in the bullet it’s more of a peachy pink shade.
I’m still on the fence on whether Anita suits me, as I think it might be a little too warm for my liking but the formula is stunning enough that I’ve purchased further shades which I feel suit me better than Anita.
I think Anita might be better for those with a warm undertone, or a skintone which is slightly darker than mine but there’s no denying that it’s a gorgeous shade. The formula is incredibly pigmented, with only one swipe needed on each lip for full opacity which very rarely happens with lipsticks and I really recommend the NARS Audacious Lipstick formula as it’s my favourite higher end lipstick formula, and the weartime of Anita is really impressive at around five to six hours which is pretty good for a non-matte lipstick.
