Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss
I first tried the Neve Cosmetics brand back in the beginning of last year and I was so impressed with the quality especially as their products are so affordable. Neve Cosmetics are an Italian cruelty free makeup brand which we can purchase from Beauty Chamber here in the UK. The newest launch from Neve Cosmetics is the Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss collection which consists of ten different shades, each retailing for just £7.50. The Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss collection are described as being a shiny and rich lipgloss inspired by painting with a longlasting and comfortable lacquer effect thanks to its high-quality vegetable ingredients such as macadamia nut oil and pomegranate extracts.
From the ten shades available, I have five of the Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss shades with the majority of the shades within the range being quite neutral in tone. The packaging of the glosses is really sleek with a clear plastic tube, and a silver metal lid and base with a doe foot applicator.
I really like the shape of the doe foot applicator within these glosses as it’s quite long and flat so it allows for a nice and even application with precision and the swatches above are done with just one swipe of the applicator so you get a fair representation of the pigmentation and texture. The glosses have a very subtle sweet scent on application but the scent disappears once on the lips.
Catalan Landscape: Delicate pastel peach natural gloss.
Arearea: Transparent coral red natural gloss.
Golconde: Pinkish mauve with beige undertones natural gloss.
Les Poseuses: Opaque neutral nude natural gloss.
Multiform: Fuchsia with lilac hues natural gloss.
I know lipgloss is a love it or hate it product but I personally love lipgloss and I actually prefer gloss over lipstick as I find gloss to be more comfortable than lipstick and you don’t have to worry about it fading unevenly either.
The Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss formula is really impressive with great pigmentation apart from Arearea which is meant to be sheer, and I find that I only need one swipe of the gloss for perfect coverage of the lips. From the five shades I own, only two of the shades are opaque on the lips; Golconde and Les Poseuses whereas the other shades are slightly sheerer.
I’m not sure I’d agree on the glosses as having a ‘lacquer effect’ but they are super shiny and comfortable on the lips thanks to the macadamia nut oil and pomegranate extracts. My favourite shade would have to be Golconde as it’s a gorgeous browny mauve shade which is translating a little darker in my swatch, but it’s a lovely brown toned nude but Multiform is a close second as it’s such an unique shade as it contains a blue/purple almost duochrome shift.
I don’t find any of the five shades to be sticky, and they last for around two to four hours depending on eating/drinking but they’re easy enough to apply. Overall I’m really happy with the Neve Cosmetics Vernissage Natural Gloss collection, and I think they’re well worth a try if you favour comfortable, super shiny lipglosses which are low maintenance and very pretty on the lips.
