In my opinion, Makeup Revolution’s best products are their eyeshadows (both in singular form and in palettes) and their highlighters so I’m always looking out for their new releases to see if there are any new highlighters or shadows. The Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Powder Highlighter launched last year but I didn’t purchase it until recently as I thought it would be too similar to their Blushing Hearts highlighters but after swatching it in the flesh, I knew I needed it.
The Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Powder Highlighter is £4 and it contains a massive 15 grams of product which is insane as the compact is huge, but I would have preferred it to be maybe half the size as it’s hard to store as it’s so massive for an highlighter.
The powder has a pyramid pattern to it similar to the pattern within the old NYX Blush and Eyeshadows which I believe helps the texture of the powder and prevents the powder from hard-pan.
The powder is exceptionally soft, and is one of the softest powders I’ve ever used although the downside to the softness is that it’s quite powdery and it does have the tendency to crumble so I like to use fan brush to apply it as it’s gentle on the powder thus creating less kickup within the pan.
The Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Powder Highlighter is so pretty and is a neutral gold colour which I thought might be a little too harsh for my skintone, but it works really well providing I use a light hand.
I also really love using this powder as an eyeshadow as it’s so multidimensional and shimmery, so it makes for the perfect topcoat for any eyeshadow look where I want a little extra glow. I honestly believe you won’t be able to find an highlighter as beautiful as this for £4 in the drugstore, it’s an amazing product and I think it should get a lot more praise and attention than it gets.
