Birchbox September 2016
It’s time for the Birchbox September 2016 box and the theme for this month’s box is ‘Heroes’ with the box being said to contain “hero beauty treats” and this month’s box contains just one full size item which is a product that subscribers were allowed to choose; the Model Co Creme Rouge or the Model Co Highlighting Trio but everything else is sample sized.
I got the Model Co Highlighting Trio (worth £14) which is a plastic, circular pot which is divided into three sections with three different shades of cream highlighter; an off white, a warm gold and a copper shade. I won’t use this as the shades won’t work for my skintone so I’m going to pass it onto someone who get better use out of it, but I’d never pay £14 for this when the sections are so tiny but it’s a good compact size for a makeup bag.
Then we have one sachet of the Starskin Eye Catcher Smoothing Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Eye Masks (worth £4.25) which promise to brighten your under-eye area and is infused with vitamin rich coconut juice and brightening licorice root extract to brighten, smooth and de-puff. Then we have a 29.6ml sample of the Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray (worth $5) which is one of Birchbox’s Birchshop brands.
This spray claims to protect, texturize, volumise and repair and contains sea buckthorn berry oil which contains nourishing antioxidants to strengthen and repair damage too. I love the smell of this spray but I have so many leave in hair sprays like this on the go so it’s not going to get a try for a good while yet but I like the branding and handy small size.
Then we are onto the last two items within the Birchbox September 2016. We have a 15ml sample of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Blemish-Less (worth £8.70) which works to create a smooth, invisible layer that acts as a buffer between the skin and other makeup and is specialised for oily, sensitive and acne prone skin types.
I think Laura Mercier is an amazing brand to get in our Birchbox but I so wish we could have had a better sized sample instead of the Model Co highlighter as Laura Mercier products are much better quality in comparison. The last item in the box is a 30ml sample of the NUXE Precious Scented Shower Oil (worth £1.50) which is AMAZING and I’ve already reviewed here on my blog here.
I’d love to know if you have anything different to my Birchbox September 2016 box, and also what are your thoughts of this month’s box?
