When it comes to beauty, makeup is definitely my first obsession and before I started a beauty blog, I never really had an interest in skincare however I’ve definitely developed a greater interest in skincare over the last four years I’ve been blogging. With a lot of skincare products I feel that because of blogging, when you try a new product you have preconceptions on how it does/doesn’t work and generally don’t have many surprises. When I received the Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate as a gift, I had absolutely no expectations or preconceptions as I’d never heard of it before so I simply read the ingredients and directions and introduced it into my skincare routine but I don’t think I’ve ever been as bowled over as I have been with the Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate; it’s a truly amazing product and in my humble opinion, very much worth its £40 price tag.
There’s quite a bit of science behind the Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate, so I’ll try and make my post as concise as possible but I don’t want to miss out any of the important information on this wonder product. I’ve included an image from Kiehl’s website too.
“Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate helps to refine the feel of rough texture, revealing newly radiant, refreshed skin. Clinically-demonstrated to help accelerate surface skin cell turnover*, this facial serum freshens and smooths the skin for a youthful radiance, visibly refining skin tone and texture over time.”

The Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate claims to restore radiance and soften skin within one week of use, and visibly refines texture and evens skintone within a week of use whilst renewing the skin without irritation. The most interesting claim in my opinion is that it is said to give results after one night with absolutely no skin irritation which is music to my ears as I have super sensitive skin which reacts very easily.
The Nightly micro-peel helps to refine the feel of rough texture and reveal newly radiant, refreshed skin. It is formulated with Quinoa Husk Extract which is sustainably sourced from the protective outer shell of the Quinoa seed without chemical alteration and with minimal environmental impact. Each bottle contains a concentrated extract of 2,000 Quinoa husks sustainably-sourced from Bolivia.
The Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate has an oil-like consistency and colour which dispenses from the glass pipette, and I find that it takes around two generous drops for my face and neck so a little goes a long way so I’m hoping the bottle will last for a couple of months with being used every night. To use the concentrate, Kiehls recommend using it after cleansing and toning but before you apply your serum and moisturiser/night cream.
I can’t lie, I don’t love the scent as it has a strong herbal fragrance which does linger until the morning but after seeing such great results, I’m happy to put up with the scent as I feel it’s worth it. The concentrate is easy to smooth into the skin and it feels like it absorbs almost instantly but it doesn’t absorb completely and you will be able to feel it on the surface of the skin even in the morning and it does feel a little tacky which isn’t something I particularly enjoy but I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t feel that uncomfortable now the weather’s gotten a lot cooler.
With regards to the results, I’m very happy with the difference it’s made to my skin. Firstly it has made my skin feel amazingly soft and smooth and it never makes my skin feeling sore or uncomfortable even though it contains AHA so I really appreciate how gentle is.
It’s definitely the most gentle peel product I’ve tried and just because it’s gentle, it doesn’t mean the results are mediocre as it’s super effective. My skin not only feels lovely, it looks brighter, clearer and more refined with it sloughing my dead skin cells away. I’ve never had a skincare product give such noticeable results in just one night as I have with with the Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate; it really is a remarkable product and for the first time in a very, very long time, I’ve started to be happy with my own skin.
