Maybelline Creme de Nude 24Hr Color Tattoo

The Maybelline 24Hr Color Tattoos are one of my favourite drugstore makeup products and I always purchase new shades which are released as I’m yet to be disappointed by any of the Color Tattoos. Maybelline launched a range of shades within their Creamy Mattes collection which included the Maybelline Creme de Nude 24Hr Color Tattoo and Maybelline Creme de Rose 24Hr Color Tattoo which have been labelled as dupes for the MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot and Painterly Paint Pot respectively.

I bought the Maybelline Creme de Nude 24Hr Color Tattoo as I don’t own the Soft Ochre Paint Pot as I wasn’t sure the shade would work well for my skintone so I didn’t want to waste £15, but I figured the £4.99 alternative was definitely worth a try.

I would describe the Maybelline Creme de Nude 24Hr Color Tattoo as being a yellow toned beige which does look a little too warm toned against my super pale skin so I have to ensure I use only a tiny amount otherwise it looks like I have smeared a poorly matched concealer all over my eyelids which isn’t a great look.

The formula of Creme de Nude is just as brilliant as the other shades within the Color Tattoo range, with a creamy and smooth consistency which blends into the skin well to prep the eyelids. I like using the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s as eyeshadow bases or as eyeshadows in their own right but I can’t get away with using Creme de Nude on its own as it’s too stark in comparison to my skintone and it actually looks yellow on my eyelids.

I’ve found that the best way to use this shade is as a base for warm eyeshadows such as those in the Morphe 35O Palette as it helps to improve application, pigmented and longevity of powder eyeshadow and the strong yellow tone isn’t an issue when worn under warm shadows. I have absolutely no qualms with the quality of this Color Tattoo but for me, I just don’t find the shade to be particularly flattering and I much prefer the Creme de Rose shade but I think this shade will work wonders on those with a medium skintone and a warm undertone to cancel out any discolouration on the eyelids.
