I’m pretty sure everyone loathes washing their makeup brushes but since I got the StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner and Drier in my life, I haven’t looked back as it’s the most incredible device and I’d recommend it to every single person that uses makeup brushes. However for the times where I only have a couple of brushes that need deep cleaning, I prefer to use the Practk Palmat 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool which is very budget friendly at £8.95 from Beauty Chamber. Practk was created by the founders of Sigma Beauty which aim to provide affordable, high quality tools for the everyday beauty lover. The Practk Palmat 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool comes in a vibrant, bright purple which I love as purple is my favourite colour but I think it would be good for Practk to have more colours to choose from.
So what is the Practk Palmat 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool?! Well it’s an hands-free makeup brush cleaning mat which is a nice and portable size for cleaning all brush sizes, but it can also be placed in the sink thanks to suction pads so you can either wear it on your hand or in your sink depending on what you prefer for brush cleaning. The mat is made from high grade silicone which is great for its antibacterial properties, and it dries quickly too so it’s perfect for travel or a makeup artist’s kit.
The Practk Palmat 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool has two circular sides; one with large domed bumps and small circular bumps which is designed for cleaning face brushes and the other has a range of raised ‘line’ bumps which is for eye brushes. Both sides of the mat have a ‘wash’ section and a ‘refine’ section where you clean the brush in the wash section, and refine and reshape the brush within the refine section as well as squeezing out any excess water from the bristles.
On the sides of each mat there are straps so you can strap it to your hand/palm so it will fit all hand sizes, but I personally prefer it on my hand as I don’t like how sweaty and damp my hands get when I have it on my hand but I like that it gives you the choice of how you wear it whilst cleaning your brushes. The easier way to use the mat is in the sink with the plug being positioned in the middle of the mat so the water can drain away easily, and Practk have a really handy how-to tutorial video here to show it in action. I think the Practk Palmat 2-in-1 Brush Cleaning Tool is a great alternative if you didn’t fancy splurging on the Sigma Pro Cleansing Glove, and it’s a lot more compact and easy to store too.
