Sleek MakeUP Brow Perfector

Sleek MakeUP Brow Perfector

As the months go by, there are more and more brands creating tinted brow gels and I’ve found that I’ve become very fussy with what I like with the Benefit Gimme Brow being my benchmark for other brow gels to be compared to. I like my brow gels to be tinted enough to give the look of a fuller brow, with a small-ish brush which offers some level of precision and a formula which doesn’t leave my  brows feeling rock solid or caked in product.

Shade wise I need a cool toned dark brown colour as my brows are naturally a very dark brown colour and a lot of dark brown brow products have the tendency to be pretty warm toned. I saw the Sleek MakeUP Brow Perfector and thought I’d give it a try as I’ve never seen it feature on blogs before so I didn’t know what to expect but it was only £5.49 so I figured it was worth a try. I have done a brow gel smackdown on my blog previously here if you fancy seeing which formulas I favour and those I don’t.

The Sleek MakeUP Brow Perfector is packaged within a small, black matte plastic tube with a glossy black plastic lid. The brush is ridiculously big and is as big as a mascara wand which I just don’t understand for a brow gel as it’s practically the size of my whole eyebrow. The bristles of the brush are very stiff and spiky so they leave ridges throughout my brows with the gel which also smothers all over the skin which is so disappointing and one of my pet hates with brow gels like these.

Shade wise I bought Dark Brown which is very warm toned which you can see in the photo of the brush, but the swatches make it look relatively cool toned but I assure you it’s very warm toned in real life so I can’t make it work. Sadly I’m not sure there’s anything positive I can say about this brow gel apart from the fact it’s £5.49 but I would urge you to skip this completely if you’re on the hunt for a good quality brow gel and opt for the Essence Make Me Brow instead as it’s only £2.50 and it’s considerably better quality and is a very credible dupe for my much loved Benefit Gimme Brow. Sorry Sleek.
