Janjira originated in Thailand and was created to harmonise between ancient wisdom, inspired by Thai culture and tradition and innovation technology. The Janjira ranges are spa-inspired and the products are built around the bathing rituals of ancient Thai royalty; Janjira was created to bring the spa experience into the comfort of your own home with naturally active ingredients.
I’ve never tried anything from Janjira before but I have read a few glowing reviews of their products so I was looking forward to trying their Janjira Argan Oil Sugar Milky Body Scrub as I love a good, sugar-based body scrub. The Janjira Argan Oil Sugar Milky Body Scrub contains refined sugar to help exfoliate, enhance, smoothen and brighten the skin whilst emollient-rich oils help to restore hydration.
– Buffs away dead skin cells – Skin is smoother and brighter – Maintains skin’s moisture – Reduces the appearance of dark spots – Improvement in the texture and condition of skin – Antioxidant properties
Sugar – Gently removes dead skin cells, revealing smooth and even skin. Tocopheryl Acetate – A vitamin E derivative that has moisturising and anti-oxidative properties. It can help to maintain the skin’s moisture balance and prevents roughness. Also acts as an antioxidant to help prevent the skin ageing as a result of UV radiation. Eucalyptus Leaf Oil – Refreshes and invigorates senses.
Janjira Argan Oil Sugar Milky Body Scrub 250ml £26
The packaging of the Scrub is really lovely, with a deep navy plastic jar and a gold metal lid which features the Janjira logo. The packaging certainly feels luxurious which reflects the price tag, and I really do feel that the packaging reflects the spa vibes really well.
The scrub itself is quite thin for a sugar scrub, and it is a little runny so you couldn’t tip the jar without the scrub pouring out which I actually rather like as it feels like an oil scrub rather than a thick scrub, as the viscosity of the oil makes the scrub a lot easier to use and smooth over the skin as I sometimes find solid thick scrubs difficult to massage into the skin as it can just fall off the skin onto the shower floor which is very wasteful.
Thankfully there’s no wastage with the Janjira Argan Oil Sugar Milky Body Scrub as you simply scoop out a small amount of scrub and then massage your skin in circular motions, and the sugar sticks to the skin due to the oil unlike the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Scrub which is difficult to massage into the skin as it tends to just sit in a lump and fall off the skin.
Not only is the texture of the scrub divine, the smell is absolutely amazing and although I’ve never been to a spa myself, I can imagine this scrub smelling exactly how a spa smells. It smells rich, and perhaps a little woody which lingers on the skin and I rarely find a body scrub scents the skin but this one definitely does. At £26, there’s no doubt that this is a pricier scrub but if you favour more decadent body treats, then I cannot recommend this scrub enough as it ticks all of the boxes but it might be the ideal item for popping on a Christmas list as it’d make for a stunning gift.
