L’Occitane have launched some beautiful releases this year, but the L’Occitane Arlesienne Fragrance and Skin Collection might be my absolute favourite so far. The L’Occitane Arlesienne Collection features three flowers ‘full of character and depth’; The Rose of Grasse, The Violet of Tourrettes-Sur-Loup and The Saffron of Provence. The collections consists of a fragrance which is the star of the collection, alongside some bath and body products all of which have the stunning Arlesienne fragrance.
“Daring and gracious, the woman of the city of Arles encompasses the beauty of Provence. Elusive and attractive, she leaves a fragrant trail bursting with colour and life, that lingers wherever she goes. L’OCCITANE celebrates the beauty and refinement of this iconic woman with our Arlésienne collection; a subtle bouquet of rose for her grace, sweet violet for her mystery and saffron for her temperament. Rose from Grasse, sweet violet and saffron from Provence come together in a floral fusion that reveals unexpected nuances. The Arlésienne fragrance evokes the woman of Arles – full of mystery, beauty and grace.“
L’Occitane Arlesienne Eau de Toilette 75ml £49
Absolutely floral, the Arlésienne Eau de Toilette unfolds like a musk of flowers, with a captivating trail with both tender innocence and hypnotic sensuality. Within moments, a citrus burst of bergamot lights up the fragrance and refreshes the spicy saffron note. This sparkling freshness contrasts with the bold, crisp, spirited greenness of galbanum, lured by the delicious scent of hawthorn.
May rose slowly opens its petals over honeyed and spicy notes, carried by a wave of floral opulence. Violet leaves from Provence reveal an unexpected green and aromatic note, accompanied by powdery facets with hints of iris. Finally, white musk gives a smooth, creamy touch and envelops this floral beauty in an irresistibly feminine sensuality.
This is such a stunning scent which on paper doesn’t sound like something I’d like as I’d normally like floral fragrances but I really do love this one. After using it numerous, I realised it reminded me of another fragrance but I just couldn’t put my finger on it but I finally did – it smells very similar to one of my all time favourite fragrances; GHOST, but a more sophisticated and longer lasting version.
When first spritzed on the skin, the strongest note is the spicy saffron but it sweetens within minutes with the violet becoming a lot more prominent alongside the white musk. Considering this is an eau de toilette, the longevity is one of the most amazing I’ve tried as I can still smell it the next morning.
L’Occitane Arlesienne Delightful Bath & Shower Gel 250ml £15
An irresistible gel, fragranced with the captivating floral bouquet of Arlésienne… This delightful bath & shower gel transforms bathing and showering into a beauty ritual full of grace and femininity. Its light, airy foam dresses the skin in a delicate veil of scent, with interlaced notes of Grasse rose, violet and saffron from Provence – three flowers that flirt between tender innocence and a hypnotic sensuality.
L’Occitane Arlesienne Beauty Milk 250ml £21
A moisturising body milk, fragranced with the irresistibly floral and deeply captivating scent of Arlésienne. Enriched with organic shea butter, it moisturises the skin and enhances its beauty. The velvety texture envelops the body in a delicate scent with hints of Grasse rose, violet and saffron from Provence. These three flowers, symbolic of Provence, exude both an innocent softness and a bold sensuality.
I always enjoy layering my fragrance with a matching body wash and body lotion as it really intensifies the scent, and makes it last longer. Considering the Arlesienne Eau de Toilette is super long lasting when worn alone, by using it with the shower gel and body milk it makes the scent last for even longer. The Bath & Shower Gel is lovely and gentle, and lathers generously when used with a shower puff to thoroughly cleanse the skin without stripping away any moisture, and it leaves the bathroom smelling incredible.
The Beauty Milk is a very silky lotion which again is delicately scented, and absorbs into the skin quickly to leave it feeling velvety soft. The Beauty Milk is so intensely fragranced that it can be used alone to scent the skin, although it obviously does smell stronger when worn alongside the matching fragrance. I particularly love using this Beauty Milk on my legs after shaving as it soothes the skin, and leaves my legs feeling amazing smooth, and it’s just another gorgeous collection from L’Occitane.
