Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette

Out of all the Christmas beauty collections, I was especially excited about the Tarte Holiday Collection as I bought quite a few of their Holiday offerings last year and I was so impressed with everything I bought so I couldn’t wait to see what they had instore for this year.

This year’s Tarte Holiday Collection is called the Works of Tarte Collection, and everything within the collection features a pretty multicoloured art-deco inspired design, and as soon as I saw the products launch, there were a couple of items I knew I just had to have. The main item which caught my eye was the Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette which you can purchase on the Tarte website for £32 as they now ship internationally, however I was worried about customs fees and I don’t like to place any US orders anymore as the fees just make it not worthwhile.

I spotted the Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette on Rose’s Beauty Store for £44 which sounds very pricey but it means you don’t have to pay any taxes or customs fees so for me it was definitely worth the extra money, although I did tell myself last Christmas I wouldn’t ever order from them again as I’d had really poor customer service with two orders I’d made.

Luckily, I didn’t have any issues with my order of the palette so perhaps their customer service has improved in the last year but I was thrilled to get my hands on the palette as it’s such amazing value for money even with the inflated UK price.

The Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette is a lot smaller than I anticipated considering it contains ten powder pans, and I was disappointed when it arrived as it felt ridiculously small for £45 as it’s CD sized but each of the ten pans are 2.4g each which isn’t too bad. I don’t think I’ll ever hit pan on these so the smaller sizes aren’t really a problem, and the smaller palette size would lend itself well for travel but I just wish it was a little bit bigger considering the price.

The palette is a shiny, gold plastic with a purple and gold design on the lid which I love as purple is my favourite colour and I particularly love that each of the pans within the palette are individually named which is such a minor thing, but I think it makes a big difference as I hate it when brands include an acetate sheet which I always throw away.

Overall, out of all the ten shades within the palette there is only one shade I don’t really like and that is Crafty as it’s a glitter fest and it’s just not very flattering on the skin but I love every single shade apart from Crafty. I am absolutely over the moon that I got my hands on this palette, especially as it looks like it’s permanently sold out everywhere so I’m glad I bought it as early on as I did. I really like that I can choose to wear shades individually, or I can mix shades within the palette very easily.

Sometimes I find that with Holiday Palettes, the quality can be a little below par in comparison to the full size products from the brand but I can hand on heart say that the quality, pigmentation and blendability of these powders is amazing (apart from Crafty) and they last on my skin all day just like my full size Tarte Amazonian Blushes. The other two items within the Tarte Holiday Collection 2016 which are on my wishlist are the Wing Workers Tarteist Eyeliner Set and the Color Vibes Palette so I’ll blog about them if I decide to splurge on them too…
