Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful Eau de Parfum

When it comes to fragrance launches, I’d like to think I try and keep up to date on new releases however I had absolutely no idea that Leighton Denny had ventured into the world of fragrance. Not only had Leighton Denny ventured into the world of fragrance, the brand has a range of fragrances so I was really surprised. The Leighton Denny fragrances are called the Light & Dark Collection with the first fragrance being the Leighton Denny Light & Dark Original which was a finalist for the Fragrance Foundation Award 2015, and there is a matching Body Crème and Body Wash in the scent. The fragrance collection even includes two unisex scents, and the Leighton Denny Light & Dark Desire for Women won the Fragrance Foundation Awards 2016 Readers’ Choice for Women Award as chosen by Elle Magazine readers.

The newest fragrance to join the Leighton Denny fragrance collection is the Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful Eau de Parfum 75ml £43.50, and Leighton’s inspiration behind the fragrance was that he wanted to ;create a fragrance so juicy, you’ll want to squeeze it’.

The box features a monochrome designs with a bold, orchid coloured square on the front which is the same colour as the fragrance’s fluid within the bottle. The bottle is quite plain for a fragrance with an higher end price tag, with no pattern or branding apart from ‘Light & Dark’ in the bottom right hand corner. I do like the almost angular design of the glass bottle, but I don’t think it looks particularly luxurious or unique nor does it visually stand out amongst my other fragrances.

The notes for the Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful Eau de Parfum are as follows;

Top: Ah Ping, Blood Orange, Watermelon, Red Apple.
Middle: Mirabilis Jasmine, Lotus Flower, Pink Violet
Base: Sweet Musk, Cream Vanilla, Light Coconut Sorbet.

The Light & Dark Delightful fragrance is exceptionally fruity which surprises me a little for an Autumn/Winter fragrance launch as its fruitiness does feel very Summery however on the flipside, it’s definitely been enhancing my mood in this dull and depressing UK weather. I like to use fruity body sprays all year round and this scent to me feels like a very concentrated body spray which offers the freshness and instant mood lift of a body spray, but with the longevity and intensity of an eau de parfum.

I find that I only ever have to apply one spritz of the fragrance as the atomiser is quite generous so this 75ml bottle is going to last me forever, and the scent lingers for at least four to five hours on me whereas a body spray’s scent would dissipate within one to two hours at a push. I think Light & Dark Delightful is very fruity and fresh, and is a fragrance I’ll get a lot of use out of during the Spring and Summer and if you enjoy the super fruity Body Shop fragrances, I really think you’ll love this new launch.
