L’Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin

L'Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin

I love absolutely everything about Micellar Water. I love the convenience of being able to remove my makeup with very little effort and without rubbing my eyes and skin, and I really like using them in the mornings to just refresh my skin. I have tried so many different micellar waters, but my stand out has to be the Bioderma Hydrabio H2O as it’s super gentle on my dry skin but it does a great job at quickly removing my makeup. Even though I love Bioderma, I’m always on the hunt for a more budget friendly alternative which I can purchase alongside my food shopping but I’m yet to find one I love. I really am not a fan of the L’Oreal 3 in 1 Micellar Water as I find that it really stings my sensitive skin, and eyes but when I saw the new L’Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin version in Superdrug, I knew I had to try it because it had an alcohol-free formula which is rare for a micellar water under £6. The new L’Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin comes in a 400ml bottle whereas their original 3 in 1 formula is in a 200ml bottle.

L’Oreal say;

The L’Oreal Paris Laboratories have created a Micellar Water, made with purified water from an advanced purification process, and combined micelles that capture impurities, for effective cleansing which is gentle on sensitive skin. REMOVES MAKE-UP – Dissolves make-up from the face, eyes and lips in one gentle action, without rubbing or rinsing. CLEANSES – Delicately captures impurities. SOOTHES – Calms skin and prevents irritation. Hypoallergenic – No Perfume – No Alcohol.

I have dry and dehydrated skin which is very sensitive which can be difficult when it comes to skincare as I never know when it’s going to react to new products. I was particularly intrigued by this micellar water as the description gave the impression that it had a much milder formulation which would work well for dry skin. I really appreciate that there is no added fragrance whatsoever within the product, but even without a fragrance, it still feels very refreshing and soothing due to water consistency. Due to how much I dislike the L’Oreal 3 in 1 Micellar Water, I didn’t have the highest of hopes for the L’Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin but I am very pleasantly surprised. I find it to be very gentle on my skin, but it’s also very effective at removing my makeup and I don’t have to rub my eyes even when wearing waterproof mascara as it dissolves my eye makeup quickly.

What has most impressed me with the new formula, is how lightweight it is on the skin. I find that a lot of micellar waters feel a little greasy, or oily on the skin and sometimes I feel like I need to wash my face after using one which kind of negates the whole point of a micellar water. The L’Oreal Micellar Water Normal/Dry Skin however feels as light as water, with zero residue left behind which is amazing especially for such a budget product. I cannot say enough good things about this product.. I do love the Garnier Oil Infused Micellar Water but I find that this one is a little more gentle, and a little more effective at removing my makeup and it’s certainly a product I will be repurchasing as it’s a great budget buy.

I’d love to know… What is your favourite micellar water?
