Kat Von D Lolita Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

If you had to name one brand and shade of matte liquid lipstick, I think the majority of people would name the Kat Von D Lolita Everlasting Liquid Lipstick as it’s insanely popular and is frequently sold out as it’s in such high demand. I already own one of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in the shade Noble but I’ve never written a blog post on it so I really ought to get to work on that but for today I have my thoughts on the Kat Von D Lolita Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.

The Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks are £16 each and can be purchased from the Debenhams website here in the UK, or from Sephora’s website internationally. Kat Von D excitingly launched here in the UK during 2016 and was definitely the most exciting brand launch within the UK during the whole year and there’s been KVD beauty products all over social media ever since. There are a massive 26 shades available on the Debenhams website but KVD Beauty does launch limited edition shades from time to time, and I saw on my Twitter feed a few weeks ago that there’s a huge amount of new shades coming very soon which is even more exciting.

The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ‘next generation’ formula promises upto 24 hour wear and is packed with natural moisturisers including vitamin E and sunflower seed wax. For application, they recommend shaking the tube before use and applying a thin single layer of product to the lips in an even motion.

I love the packaging with long, slim, clear plastic tubes with a black gothic inspired print around the top of the tube and a silver rose print on the matte black lid. I really think the packaging design really stands out and I particularly like the long, thin doe-foot applicator which works perfectly at evenly applying the lipstick to the lips.

The Kat Von D Lolita Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is described as being a ‘chestnut rose’, but for me it’s a browny red shade which looks a little lighter on the lips than it looks in the tube. I have seen so many different people wear Lolita but it somehow manages to look completely different on different people. I was unsure how it’d look against my skintone but it’s really quite flattering even though it’s quite warm in tone as warm shades don’t tend to suit me.

I do find that I prefer to use a pinkish nude lipliner before applying Lolita to try and make it look a little pinker than brown but you could use nude, pink, brown or red liners with Lolita and it’d manage to work with them all. I have to say I’m not a massive fan of matte lipsticks so I do prefer the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick formula as it’s a little more forgiving on the lips, and a little more comfortable but the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula is definitely the best liquid lipstick formula I’ve ever tried.

It’s easy to apply, longlasting, not super drying and doesn’t wear off the minute you start eating and drinking. I do prefer Noble to Lolita as I prefer a peachy nude lip but Lolita is perfect for the times I want to go a little more intense with my lip colour without worrying about it washing my complexion out like most deeper shades have the tendency to do.

Have you ever tried Lolita? Are you a Kat Von D fan like myself?
