I always find January to be super depressing; not just because of the festivities of December are over, but because January is such a boring month in terms of beauty launches. As soon as February began, it felt like every drugstore brand launched lots of new products which is very exciting and I couldn’t help myself but add some new products to my collection.
I am not going to lie, I have purchased more than the items you see above but I couldn’t comfortably fit any more in the photo (first world problems I know) but I thought this was a good selection of new releases with a good range of brands. I always love reading new beauty launch blog posts myself, and my last new beauty launch post (here) which I did back in September is one of my most read blog posts in the last four years so I figured it was time I did another one, and here it is; the new drugstore beauty launches February for 2017.
MUA is the first brand which has really impressed me with how many new products they have very recently launched. This really is just a tiny selection but they have also launched some foundation mixers similar to my holy grail NYX White Pro Foundation Mixer and I’ve just bought the White one so I can compare it to the NYX one so keep your eyes peeled for that post very soon.
The most exciting launch is the MUA Burning Embers Eyeshadow Palette which launched in early December but I only recently got my hands on it myself, but isn’t it a beauty?! I can’t believe it’s only £8 as it contains 25 eyeshadows in some really unique shades compared to what you’d normally get in the drugstore and the quality is fantastic; I’ll be reviewing it very soon with full swatched.
Then the two smaller palettes either side are brand, brand new and are the MUA Professional 6 Shade Palettes in; Rusted Wonders and Natural Essentials and they’re just £3.50 each – amazing. In addition to the palettes, MUA have yet again extended their super popular Undress Your Skin Highlighter range with four or five new shades.
I wanted all of the new ones but most are out of stock on the Superdrug website, and at the time of writing this, they’re not in stores just yet. I chose Peach Diamond (incredible duochrome) and Golden Scintillation but I need them all, and at £3 each I’m not at all sorry.
Next up is Maybelline. I have four of their newer releases but they also have quite a few new launches. First up is the Maybelline Dream Brightening Booster Concealer in the shade White 01 £4.99. I’ve never seen a ‘white’ concealer before so I’m really intrigued by this one as although it’s ‘white’ it actually looks like it would match my skintone (#paleskinproblems).
The Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid isn’t very new but it’s been out for a couple of months so I still regard it as being relatively new and I opted for the Light shade. Then I chose two of their new brow range – the Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler Brow Mascara which looks similar to their Brow Drama Brow Mascara except this supposedly has fibres for adding fullness to the brows. I also got the Maybelline Brow Precise Mini Pencil which is based on the whole ABH Brow Wiz format with a tiny retractable pencil and a spoolie.
Onto L’Oreal as they have SO many new releases, this really is only a tiny selection of their launches. For the lips, they have a new range of matte lipsticks and I decided to purchase the L’Oreal Color Riche Matte Addiction Lipstick in Blush in a Rush as it looked like the prettiest pinky rose shade which I’d get a lot of wear from, and the L’Oreal Lip Paint Matte in the shade Hollywood Beige which is not at all beige, and more of another pinky rose (I have a type, what can I say).
The L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Full Coverage Longwear Foundation in Porcelain was bought purely to use as a concealer as I know my skin is much too dry to wear all over my face but I love a good full coverage concealer for blemishes. Then I got two of the new L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paints in the shades Golden Eye and Keep On Khaki, which are both beautifully shimmery and multi-dimensional.
My last selection of new drugstore beauty launches are from Revlon, Max Factor and Rimmel. I got the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Foundation Stick in the shade Ivory as Ivory is my shade in their ColorStay Foundation, although the Ivory shades are different between the two foundations which is very frustrating.
Then I got the new Max Factor Colour Elixir Matte Lipsticks in the shade Nude 05 which looks so pretty and almost identical to the other two lipsticks but at least I know they’re shades I’d wear. The last items are products I was kindly sent from Rimmel; their new Rimmel Brow This Way 3 in 1 Soft Powder which are available in four shades. I’m still trying these Drugstore Beauty Launches out as I’ve only had them for five days but of course I’ll report back as soon as I have.
So they are all of my new drugstore beauty launches I have to show you today. I would love to know if you’d like to try any of the Drugstore Beauty Launches particular?
