Bagsy are a British beauty brand which launched surrounding the concept of easy to choose, easy to use everyday beauty essentials which are designed to fit inside your handbag. Their products are cruelty free, and their packaging is simply stunning and lust worthy and I was chuffed to be able to try a few of their products as I hadn’t come across the brand before since their launch in 2015.
Towards the end of 2016, Bagsy collaborated with Savannah Miller to create a capsule collection. If you’re anything like me, I had to Google to see who Savannah Miller was as I know nothing about fashion but it would appear that she’s a British fashion designer and the products’ packaging is all inspired by her signature prints. The collection consists of a total of six products for the eyes, lips, cheeks and hair and I am head over heels in love with the beautiful packaging of every single product within the Savannah Miller X Bagsy Makeup Collection.
Savannah Miller X Bagsy Pitch Black Full Volume Mascara £18
This is one of the biggest mascara tubes I’ve ever seen and not only is the tube massive, but the brush is pretty huge too with natural bristles. The formula is enriched with panthenol to help keep the lashes flexible and soft and Vitamin E works to condition and soften the lashes too.
The mascara really does deliver on its claims for full volume which I put down to the spiralled design of the bristles on the brush which when wiggled through the lashes, helps to coat every single lash for maximum intensity whilst leaving the lashes feeling comfortable at the same time. I didn’t expect very much from this mascara truth be told as it is so huge, but it’s one of the best items in the collection in my opinion.
Savannah Miller X Bagsy Intensifying Ink Liquid Eyeliner £15
Eyeliners are one of my favourite beauty products so I relish the chance to try new ones, and I was particularly intrigued by this eyeliner as the nib is rather long and flexible. The precise, long nib works well at bending with the natural contours of your eyelids offering maximum control especially when creating flicks. The eyeliner’s formula contains aloe vera, sunflower seed and jojoba oil alongside Vitamin E to neutralise free radicals.
I’ve seen such ingredients in foundations and skincare, but never have I seen them in an eyeliner before but it makes sense seeing as the eyelid skin is extremely thin. The liner is very quick drying so you have to work quickly, especially if you’ve made a mistake and is longlasting and smudge resistant which is ideal as we head towards Spring and the pollen starts playing havoc with my eyes.
Savannah Miller X Bagsy Dawn to Dusk Eyeshadow Palette £24
This palette contains five large eyeshadow pans within a glossy, black plastic palette which nice and compact making it perfect for slipping inside your makeup bag. The palette contains a mirror as well a dual ended brush which I really appreciate as it’s actually usable unlike the sponge tip applicators you tend to find in eyeshadow palettes. The shades within the palette were chosen to help you create a multitude of makeup looks to get you through from ‘dawn to dusk’ like the name suggests.
The shades include a pale champagne, a peachy matte, a chocolate brown, a deep charcoal and a glittery taupe, and they really do work well together to create natural day looks through to more intense evening looks too, with great blendability and pigmentation as shown in the one swipe swatches above. I think the shades are very flattering for all ages and all skintones too, and I particularly like the subtle glitter within the last shade for extra sparkle within your makeup look.
Savannah Miller X Bagsy Vermilion Full Colour Lipstick £16
The lipstick has the most beautiful packaging with a magnetised lid, and glossy black metal casing which is extremely sleek. This really is a statement shade, a bold pinky toned red which Bagsy and Savannah hoped would flatter most skintones, with a velvet matte finish although I find the finish to be more of a satin but it has a beautiful formula regardless.
The formula of the Vermilion Lipstick contains a nourishing blend of Vitamins A,C and E which are renowned for their lip conditioning, smoothing and mositurising benefits. I have to say I do prefer a more muted shade for a formula as soft as this as I’m always paranoid I’m going to smear it all over my face but it lasts really well on the lips without feathering, bleeding or transferring and I’m just so in love with the super sleek, high end-esque packaging.
I would love to know if you’ve ever tried anything from Bagsy, and your thoughts on the new collection?
