Giorgio Armani Urban Gorilla Red Rouge D'Armani Lipstick

When it comes to packaging, Giorgio Armani really are one of the most luxurious brands which beautifully decadent packaging and product formulas to match. On the 15th of February, Giorgio Armani revealed their pop-up store in Covent Garden where they showcase the brand’s stunning makeup universe.

The Armani Box Pop-Up Store features red and black colours with a pretty huge gorilla statue to welcome visitors as they enter the store, which was reproduced by Italian artist Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba from the gorilla which Mr Armani has in his lounge in Milan. The resin gorilla was a gift which came from a movie set and his name is Uri, and Uri is the Armani Box’s store emblem and to celebrate the launch of the pop-store, Giorgio Armani have created the limited edition Giorgio Armani Urban Gorilla Red Rouge D’Armani Lipstick which features Uri the gorilla; cute or what?!

I’ve never been to the Armani Box but the imagery I’ve seen online is incredible, it looks like such a stunning venue with wall to wall Giorgio Armani beauty and it’s going to be running until the 15th of May so I definitely recommend heading down if you’re in the Covent Garden area, so you can also meet Uri.

The Giorgio Armani Urban Gorilla Red Rouge D’Armani Lipstick has the typical black, glossy lacquered casing with a magnetised lid which all of the Rouge D’Armani Lipsticks have, except this very special Gorilla Red lipstick has an amazing Uri sketch on the bottom section of the casing.

I know the gorilla packaging design won’t appeal to everyone, but it will to all Giorgio Armani fans especially as it’s a product you can only purchase inside the Armani Box so it’s somewhat of a collectors item for makeup obsessives like myself. If you’ve never tried the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani lipstick formula, you really are missing out as it’s one of my absolute favourite lipstick formulas.

The Giorgio Armani Urban Gorilla Red Rouge D’Armani Lipstick is the most perfect, blue toned red which will be universally flattering especially as the blue undertone will help to make your teeth look whiter, especially if you have any discolouration of the teeth as blue sits opposite orange and yellow on the colour wheel so they tend to cancel eachother out when paired together. I love the shade of red which Giorgio Armani have chosen for their Gorilla Red Lipstick as it matches the Uri statue beautifully, as well as the incredible red decor within the pop-up shop.

The Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lipstick has their Lasting Satin Lip Color formula which is claims to offer comfort and shine without fading and feathering, with an unique formula which offers upto 8 hours of weartime while the soft texture leaves lips feeling continuously hydrated.

The pigmentation of Gorilla Red is very intense, with a lovely and smooth formula which glides across the lips without dragging or pulling, and the satin finish is flattering in that you don’t have to excessively exfoliate your lips prior to application. I haven’t experienced any feathering or bleeding whatsoever, and the longevity is impressive with upto seven hours without touch ups even with eating and drinking.

Have you visited the Armani Box in Covent Garden? What do you think of the Gorilla Red limited edition lipstick?
