Some bloggers recoil in horror at the word ‘foaming’ when it comes to skincare, especially those with dry and/or sensitive skin. Typically speaking foaming skincare products can be rather drying on the skin due to the foaming agents within the formula such as SLS, SLES and ALS as they can strip moisture from the skin, so it’s recommended that you use products which don’t contain such ingredients. I have to admit I myself don’t find foaming products very appealing as my skin is already dry, a product which could potentially exacerbate my dryness is a no go in my opinion. I really like Bioderma as a brand, and I spotted on their Instagram page that they had a giveaway to win the Bioderma Sensibio Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel and I decided to enter as the Bioderma Sensibio range is one of my favourites. I couldn’t believe it when I actually won, and I was excited yet a little nervous to give it a try.
The Bioderma Sensibio Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel is described as being a soothing mild cleansing gel with lipid-restoring and moisturising properties, and is specifically designed for those with sensitive skin. It contains an exclusive “DAF complex” which is an association of active ingredients which allows to reinforce the tolerance threshold of all sensitive skin.
It is also rnriched with Coco Glucoside/Glycéryl Oléate which is an active ingredient that mimics the skin structure. To use the gel you simple apply to wet skin both morning and night, and massage until a foam appears, rinse and gently pat the skin dry. It’s very quick and easy to use as a face wash, but I’ve not tried it for makeup removal as I prefer to use a micellar water to remove my makeup prior to using a cleanser, particularity around my eyes as they tend to be quite sensitive.
Bioderma Sensibio Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel – Escentual £10.50
I find this foaming gel to be very mild on my skin, and it doesn’t cause any stinging or irritation even when used on my eyes. I only need around a twenty pence sized amount of gel for my face and neck, and I like that the bottle has a pump as I hate faffing with tubes and lids when I’ve got wet hands.
If I was to close my eyes and do a blind product test, I’d never know this was a clear foaming gel as it feels quite moisturising on the skin and I don’t feel as if I need to use copious amounts of moisturiser to replenish the skin either. I think £10.50 is a really great price for a 200ml sized bottle, especially when you only need such a small amount per use, but make sure you check Escentual as they regularly have Bioderma products on offer.
Have you ever tried any products from the Bioderma Sensibio range?
