For the Birchbox April 2017 box, Birchbox have partnered up with Boden for “The Bold and the Beautiful” themed box, with the box itself featuring one of Boden’s key prints. The box really is stunning this month, I love the print on the outside of the box and complimentary red drawer which I’ll try and reuse as it’s too pretty to throw away, but as I’ve mentioned many times before, I much prefer the physical boxes over this drawer style packaging. For the collaboration, Birchbox and Boden are offering subscribers the chance to ‘plus’ their box by paying an additional £8, and they’ll receive a Birchbox Boden Card Holder (the holder has an RRP of £15) which looks really pretty.
Starting off with the product members knew was going to be in the box; the Manna Kadar Cosmetics High Definition Powder, although members were given the choice of this powder or the Manna Kadar Radiance Split Pan Bronzer/Highlighter Duo.
I got the powder in my box and it’s supposedly a full size which really shocked me as it’s £27 which is insane as the powder is TINY and the £27 price given on the insert is hugely inflated as it’s only $21/£16.88 from the Manna Kadar website directly. I can’t find a size/weight online anywhere, but it’s definitely no more than 3 grams. I’d never pay £27 for a powder the size of an eyeshadow but it’s described as being a mattifying HD powder.
The next item is a little more exciting in my opinion as we all receive a full size NEW Nip + Fab Colour Correcting Concealer worth £8.95. The Nip + Fab makeup range only recently launched into Superdrug within the last couple of the weeks so to get an item in the box is pretty good.
The shades include; orange, yellow, green and purple, and I got the yellow one which sadly I won’t be able to use as it’s way too dark for my skin tone but it’s supposed to act like a ‘subtle highlighter by illuminating the skin’ but it would look like I’d used a neon yellow highlighter rather than a liquid highlighter if I was to use this as it’s bright yellow. I’ll gift it to one of my deeper skinned friends and hopefully they’ll be able to use it.
Then next in the Birchbox April 2017 box we have the Polaar IcePure Gentle Scrub in a 25ml sample size. Polaar featured in the Birchbox March 2016 box , but a different product to this. This scrub claims to contain Arctic cotton which is a powerhouse ingredient known for its moisturising properties so it exfoliates the skin whilst providing softness too. It can be used once or twice a week, by massaging it into damp skin in circular motions.
Amika has featured in a fair few Birchbox curations (September 2016 and March 2016) and this is the Amika The Shield Style Extending Spray in a 31ml sample size, and Amika is another of the Birchbox exclusive brands. This is described as an heat activated formula which protects the hair from UV rays, heat, pollution and frizz to keep it looking fresh for upto 24 hours. It can be used on damp or dry hair and promises to extend the life of your hairstyle.
The last item in the Birchbox April 2017 box is the Baija Paris Creme Moana in Fleur de Tiare in a 30ml sample size. This is a nourishing body lotion which contains coconut oil, jojoba wax and cupuaςu butters to offer immediate relief to dry patches for super soft skin, with a Tiare flower scent.
I’d love to know if you got anything different in your Birchbox April 2017 box this month?!
