Glossybox April 2017
I’m not entirely sure where March went, but sure enough it’s time for the Glossybox April 2017 which is supposedly edited for ‘all those busy women out there who want their beauty arsenal to make life that little bit easier’. In last month’s Glossybox there was a spoiler that this month’s box would contain the ModelCo Contour Stick which it does, and for next month the spoiler is the Scrub Love Organic Body Exfoliator. Now let’s see what’s inside this month’s box…
Starting off with my least favourite item in the box.. the ModelCo Contour Stick which is supposedly worth £17 which really shocked me. Glossybox are my favourite under £15 beauty box but this item is an absolute miss for me as it’s literally orange and no way near being a contour shade. Contour shades are cool toned shades so that they mimic natural shadow, and nobody has orange shadow. It’s not Glossybox’s fault that this product is a miss, but I can’t honestly imagine anyone spending £17 on this small contour stick.
Then within the Glossybox April 2017 we have the Merci Handy Black Vanilla Love & Hand Cleansing Gel worth £2.90. I wouldn’t normally be thrilled to receive an hand gel in a beauty box, but after spending the whole of March with a chest infection, I’m trying to combat as many germs as possible so this is a welcome addition for me and has gone straight into my handbag so I can hopefully stop myself picking up any more bugs in the near future. The gel smells like men’s aftershave and not very alcohol-based like typical hand gels, and I don’t find it to be excessively drying on the skin either.
The next item is the SportFX Double Time Brush Buffer & Powder Duo worth £10.99. I have to say, the SportFX name has to be the most random beauty name I’ve ever seen.. this brush actually reminds me of a majorette baton with its design and branding but SportFX’s product have been specially created to offer multi-use products that make quick turnarounds at the gym a reality. It’s obviously a very niche brand which won’t appeal to everyone, but as far as brushes go, this is a really nice brush with very soft taklon bristles with a powder brush on one side, and a foundation buffer brush on the other.
Then we have the Elgon Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash worth £14.50. Co-Washers claim to combine the cleansing action of a shampoo with the hydration of a conditioner in one quick-to-use product. I’ve never tried a specific cleansing conditioner before so I’m intrigued to give this a go and see if it’s any different to the many 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner products on the market already. The packaging of this product is really nice, and the formula is free from sulphates, salts and artificial colours too.
The final item in the Glossybox April 2017 box is a sample size of the Rodial GLAMOLASH Mascara XXL. I’ve only tried two Rodial makeup products thus far, and I’ve loved them both so I’m excited to try this mascara as the formula sounds really promising as it’s described as being longlasting and rich in pigment for big, volumised lashes and it has a natural bristle wand which I like as I much prefer natural bristles to plastic bristles. Although this is a sample size of the mascara, it’s still a decent size so I imagine it’ll last for a good few weeks and the full size is £24 should you decide you want the full size.
So they are the products within the Glossybox April 2017 box. I think it’s a really good box this month, with a great mixture of makeup, handcare and haircare so I’m happy. I’d love to know if you got anything different in your box? Let me know in the comments below…
