Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red Matte Revolution Lipstick Review / Swatches

Charlotte Tilbury very recently launched onto Feel unique which was such amazing news as their products had only been available on Selfridges and the Charlotte Tilbury website. Feel unique are my top favourite online beauty site as they have such an huge range of brands and products, and they regularly hold special offers, promotions and discount codes which make me feel a little less guilty when having a beauty splurge. I own a few Charlotte Tilbury products now.. a selection of the lipsticks from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range and Matte Revolution range as well as one of the Eyes to Mesmerise and I really am loving trying more from the brand. I featured the beautifully bold Charlotte Tilbury Opium Noir Matte Revolution Lipstick last week and today I have another statement shade; the Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red Matte Revolution Lipstick.

• Lipstick Tree & Orchid extract softens, protects and hydrates lips for younger-looking, healthy lips.

• 3D glowing pigments create the illusion lit-from-within lips that appear wider and fuller.

• Triglycerides mixed with a perfect blend of oils and waxes glides long-lasting colour onto the lips.

• Revolutionary, square, angled tip mimics the shape of a lip brush for precision application.

The Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red Matte Revolution Lipstick £24 is described as being a ‘true ruby red’ to bestow Hollywood style wow-factor. The shade looks considerably darker in the bullet than it is when on the lips which I found was the same for Opium Noir too so I’m not sure if that’s something with the Matte Revolution range, as the K.I.S.S.I.N.G shades I have are true to colour.

In all honesty I much prefer the lighter versions of Red Carpet Red and Opium Noir as I don’t feel like I can pull off super deep lip colours, but it might be worth looking online for swatches before making a purchase of any of the Matte Revolution shade to make sure you like the true shade rather than what it looks like in the bullet.

I have found the Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red Matte Revolution Lipstick to be a little more pigmented than Opium Noir as you get almost perfect opacity with only one swipe of Red Carpet Red, whereas Opium Noir needs a couple of swipes for an opaque finish.

I really do like the squared tip of the Matte Revolution Lipsticks as they really do allow you to create a perfectly sharp lip line even around the cupids bow, but I imagine the sharpness will reduce with use so a lip brush will be necessary for such a bold shade.

I really appreciate that Feel unique have images for every Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick shade to show the shade on different skintones which I think is such a genius idea, so you can get an idea if the shade will work for your skintone. I think Red Carpet Red will suit both cool and warm undertones as it’s a beautiful, neutral toned classic red which adds instant glamour to any makeup look.

Have you ever tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks?
