Makeup Forever used to be the brand that everyone stocked up on whenever they travelled to the US but luckily for us their products are now stocked on Precious About Makeup so we no longer need to make the transatlantic flight to try their products. I’ve tried a fair few Makeup Forever products since their products launched in the UK but there are many products I’ve never tried nor heard people talk about and the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Lip Booster was the perfect example as it’s one of the brand’s newest launches and I’d never heard of it before trying it for myself.
The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Lip Booster £17.50 is available in two shades; 00 Universal and 01 Cinema and is a described as being a pro secret used to boost and prepare tired lips on set, as it’s a hydra-plumping serum which works to hydrate and smooth the lips whilst adding fullness and comfort.
The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Lip Booster is packaged within a black plastic rectangular tube which unscrews in the middle to reveal a large, rounded doe-foot applicator within the lid. The applicator is the same size and shape as those within the Clarins Lip Oils, and has a subtle sweet taste and scent.
The applicator isn’t the only resemblance to the Clarins Lip Oils as I find the formula to be extremely similar too, except the Universal shade is completely clear so it only imparts shine to the lips instead of a tint like the Clarins Lip Oils. The Lip Booster contains a blend of loofah oil and hyaluronic-acid to leave the lips feeling instantly moisturised and smooth.
To use the Lip Booster you can apply directly to the lips with the applicator and wear alone or it can be applied prior to applying a lip colour. The usage suggestions recommend applying one layer of the serum to the lips and allow it to dry before applying a second layer for maximum hydration, and I find that it takes around ten minutes for the serum to fully penetrate my lips.
If you love a matte lip, you need this lip serum in your life as it’s super thin and lightweight so it doesn’t effect the application of your chosen lip product but it perfectly preps the lips to reduce any dryness or discomfort from the matte finish. I can’t say I personally notice any plumping action to my lips after use but it doesn’t bother me too much as it does work very well to hydrate, soften and smooth the lips whilst smelling and tasting good too.
Have you tried either of the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Lip Boosters before?
