Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser 100ml £22
Sönd are a UK based skincare brand which creates their products over in Germany and work with top silica scientists and skincare specialists across Europe. I’d never heard of the Sönd brand until trying the Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser and there doesn’t seem to be very many reviews online so I really didn’t know what to expect from their cleanser, and their brand message is the following;
“We create products to make sensitive skin look and feel amazing. Our approach to skincare is holistic, and we want to help everyone understand how to achieve healthy looking skin through skincare and lifestyle. We aim to assist you in making positive lifestyle changes that compliment our products.“
From looking at their website, it appears they only have five products on offer; Gentle Daily Cleanser, Energising Mineral Supplements, Replenishing Facial Oil, Revitalising Face Serum and Hydrating Face Spray. The Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser is described as a gentle but effective cleansing cream containing Shea and Cocoa butter which work together to lift off impurities without stripping away your skin’s essential moisture, while extracts of chamomile and marigold will soothe and calm your skin for a healthy glow. To use the cleanser you simply massage two to three pumps of product onto the face and neck and rinse with a soft cloth for a deeper clean.
The packaging and branding is quite simple but I like that each of the five products have a different colour coded box. The cleanser is packaged within a pump bottle which makes dispensing product very easy especially with wet hands, and I find I need four to five pumps to remove a full face of makeup rather than the recommended ‘two to three’.
The consistency of the cleanser is nice and creamy, and is easy to work all over the face on both wet or dry skin. It has a pleasant subtle floral scent which I guess is down to the chamomile and marigold, and I appreciate that they haven’t added an artificial fragrance which could be aggravating for sensitive skin such as mine.
If you’re a fan of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, I really do think you’ll like the Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser as they’re very similar in terms of consistency but I actually prefer that the Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser doesn’t contain an overpowering scent like the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish does. I agree with all of the cleanser’s claims that it removes makeup and impurities without leaving the skin feeling tight or dry, and it’s gentle enough to be used both morning and night too. If you’d like to learn more about the brand, I’d recommend taking a look at their blog which includes more information about the products as well as usage tips.
I’d love to know if you’ve ever tried anything from Sönd before?
