I really rate Essence as a brand as their products are all so affordable and the quality is usually pretty decent, and I particularly like how they’re constantly releasing new products. My last Essence haul was back in February and I couldn’t help myself from placing another order on the Wilko website as I noticed that they’d added Essence’s newest launches.
I’ rarely buy Essence instore at Wilko as their stands are usually quite messy so I prefer to place my orders online as you can collect instore for free. I bought 14 products in total which cost just over £24 which is amazing as there aren’t many brands where you could buy 14 different products for under £24 and it averages at just £1.70 a product.
The Essence Satin Touch Blush are one of my favourite drugstore blush formulas and they’re only £1 each and this time I bought the Satin Coral shade which is the prettiest peachy coral shade which I’m sure I’ll wear a lot this summer. I’ve seen some rave reviews of the Essence Super Precise Eyeliner £2.30 on a few blogs recently so I decided to give it a try, especially as it has a brush applicator which is my favourite method of application for liquid eyeliner.
The brush really is tiny and the formula claims to be longlasting and waterproof so again, I’m sure it’ll be another summer staple. The product I was most looking forward to trying from my haul has to be the Essence Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer £2.50 in the shade 05 Ivory as I’ve seen swatches online and it looks like a really good shade for pale skin.
I’ve already tried the concealer a couple of times and I’m so, so impressed with how pale it is and also how much coverage it offers whilst feeling lightweight on the skin. I’m so excited about this concealer and think it might even replace the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as my holy grail drugstore concealer which is huge as it’s been my favourite for over ten years now.
I did go a little lipliner crazy but they’re only £1.50 and £1.80 each so I decided they’d be ideal for building up my lipliner collection so I have a good range of shades to choose from when deciding on a lip colour.
I got three shades of the Essence Ultra Last Lipliner which are £1.80 each and in the shades; Rosewood High, Brick Dust and Lavender Blender. Amazingly eneough there are six different shades to choose from within the Ultra Last range and they really are the creamiest lipliner formula I’ve ever tried. I just can’t believe they’re £1.80 each as I find them to be better than the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Liners which I love.
I also got three shades of the Essence Longlasting Lipliners which are £1.50 each in the shades; Girl Next Door, Plum Cake and Lovely Frappuccino and again there are six shades to choose from. The Longlasting Lipliners are a little drier than the Ultra Last formula but they’re still brilliant for the price.
Whenever I do an Essence haul, I always buy some nail polishes as their polishes really are amazing and they’re so affordable too. Firstly I got one of the Essence The Gel Nail Polishes in the shade Eclectic Blue which is only £1.60. I already own a lot of the shades but I couldn’t resist this stunning almost cornflower blue shade as I love blue nail polish and they have a really nice formula which wears well on my nails.
I also got one of their topcoat effect polishes as again I’m a big fan of them for transforming the finish of your nail polish and I spotted that I hadn’t got this one; the Essence Glamaxy Top Coat £2 which looks so unique and I can’t wait to try it out layered over many different shades. The last items I bought were three of their brand new Essence Colour Boost High Pigment Nail Paints which are £1.80 each and claim to have a “1 coat & go” formula.
From the ten shades on offer, I bought; Instant Friendship, Instant Fun and Instant Match. I’ve tried Instant Fun so far (the coral shade) and I’m amazed with how easy it was to apply, how shiny it looks on the nails and I’m on day four with no chipping or tip wear whatsoever.
I will of course be following up with my thoughts on everything I’ve bought within my Essence Makeup Haul #2 once I’ve had a chance to properly try them. If there’s a product in particular you’d like to see a post on please let me know in the comments below and I’ll get working on it for you..
