I have always had a love for miniature beauty products as they’re such a great way to try products without committing to the full size, so I always like to keep an eye out for gift with purchase offers or giftsets which contain miniature sized products. I was kindly gifted five YSL Makeup Minis to try, and whilst they’re not available to purchase individually, YSL do have some really great giftsets which offer miniature sizes of their beauty products as extras, particularly around Christmas time. I thought I’d give a rundown on my thoughts of the five YSL Makeup Minis, specially as I’ve already tried/own three of them.
I did a post on the YSL Black Opium trilogy back in December featuring the YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum, YSL Black Opium Eau de Toilette and YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum. Earlier this year YSL launched their Black Opium Floral Shock Eau de Parfum to join their existing three fragrances which I also featured on my blog in March.
I really love all four versions of the Black Opium fragrance, but the original Black Opium Eau de Parfum has to be my favourite as it’s so intense and longlasting. If you’d like a full rundown on the notes and descriptions of the four fragrances, make sure you check out the two links to decide if any of the fragrances are for you.
I featured the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer Blurring & Illuminating Primer on my blog alongside their matching foundation here which is one of my favourite foundations, so I’m happy to have another miniature size as it’s a really great primer. It is described as being a blurring and illuminating fluid gel primer which is YSL’s first light infused primer which works to even the look of the skintone, blur the pores and fine lines and help your makeup to last longer.
This ‘new generation primer combines an advanced technology’ to create an ideal canvas, and has a transparent gel formula which allows light to diffuse through optimally whilst making visible pores appear reduced, skin texture smoothed and skin luminosity is supposedly boosted. YSL claim that the primer can be worn alone on bare skin or under your makeup for the perfect canvas.
Onto the first of the two products I haven’t tried; the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in the shade 52 Rosy Coral £28. “This lipstick collection of captivating couture shades offers each complexion a customised look. The luxurious gold case that doubles as a handy mirror unveils a SPF 15 moisturising formula that saturates lips with intense, stay-true colour and medium to full coverage with a radiant, satin finish for up to 6 hours.”
There are an amazing 43 shades to choose from, and 52 Rosy Coral is a really bright yellow toned coral which couldn’t be more perfect for Summer. I already own two shades of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick formula in Beige Tribute and Le Nu which are both pinky nude shades, so it’s nice to have a bolder option as the formula is very creamy and pigmented which is comfortable to wear.
The last of my YSL Makeup Minis is the YSL Top Secrets Lip Perfector £24.50 which isn’t a product I’ve heard of before, but I have tried a couple of the YSL Top Secrets skincare products. The YSL Top Secrets Lip Perfector is a 3 in 1 lipbalm which comforts dryness, conditions for smoothness and enhances lipstick by helping to provide a more even colour result.
It can be used as a lip treatment lip balm, or used as a primer for your lips before applying your chosen lip colour. It’s a lightweight clear balm which I like applying over the top of lip colours by patting it in with my fingertip so I don’t smudge the lipstick underneath and it does add extra comfort without feeling greasy or slippery.
I would love to know what your favourite of the YSL Makeup Minis is in the comments below..
