The Birchbox August 2017 box has to have the prettiest box design to date. Everyone is obsessed with the whole mermaid and unicorn trend right now, so I like that Birchbox have embraced the Mermaid trend to create a “Mermaid Vibes” box. The drawer style box has a beautiful scale print design with gold metallic foil detail on the top, which really reminds me of my favourite book as a child; The Rainbow Fish, anyone else?! It really is a stunning box, and it matches the mermaid vibe perfectly. Onto the contents of this month’s box….
My standout product in the Birchbox August 2017 box without a doubt has to be the full size Spectrum Collections A05 Blush Crush Brush worth £6.99. There are two brush designs available for the box, this design which features a turquoise coloured handle and lilac to purple bristles which is from their Glam Clam Set (which is £59.99 to buy for 10 brushes plus a bag).
The other brush is from the Bomb Shell Set (again £59.99 to buy) and has a pale pink handle, with light pink to bright pink coloured bristles. I am delighted I got the Glam Clam A05 Blush Crush Brush as it’s my favourite design from the two as purple is my favourite colour. I have a number of Spectrum Collections brushes and they really are amazing for the price as their bristles are extremely soft and silky, and they’re very well made too.
The second full size product is the LOC One and Done Shadow Stick worth £8, in either the shade Out of Your Shell or Rock Steady and is one of three Birchbox exclusives this month. I got the shade Out of Your Shell which is a very light champagne shade. I have a few of the LOC One and Done Shadow Sticks now and I do really like them although I think I would have preferred the Rock Steady shade as this is such a pale shade, but it’ll still work nicely as a base for any other shimmer shadows.
Next up is a 10ml sample size of the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi Purpose Dry Oil worth £2. Like the name suggests, this is an oil you can use on the face, body and hair to nourish and illuminate the skin. I love the scent of this oil, and I like to use the shimmery version in my hair but it’s an handy product to have in a summer box as it would be amazing with a tan.
Then we have another 10ml sample, this time the Huygens Supernature Cream worth £3.33 and is a Birchbox exclusive. It claims to boost circulation, soothe redness and smooth away dead skin cells. It’s a face cream so a 10ml sample really isn’t a lot to be able to fully test the product but I have to say I am glad it’s a face cream this month, and not an hand cream or body cream like most months.
The last item in the box is another Birchbox exclusive and is a 30ml sample of the Number 4 Sugar Texturising Spray worth £4.13. The spray is formulated with sugar cane, and claims to create loose, shiny waves without any crunch and will keep your style in place through heat and humidity.
So they are all of the products within the Birchbox August 2017 edit. I’d love to know your thoughts? What’s your favourite product this month?
