ColourPop Alyssa Ultra Satin Lip

ColourPop Alyssa Ultra Satin Lip Review and Swatches

ColourPop are one of my absolute favourite brands, and I can’t quite believe that this time last year I’d never even tried any of their products. I made my first ColourPop haul order during their Black Friday sale, and I was instantly wowed by the quality of everything and I’ve made many orders ever since so I now have quite the sizeable collection.

My favourite ColourPop product is without a doubt their Super Shock Shadows, but I’ve really enjoyed their different liquid lipstick formulas. I decided to purchase the ColourPop Alyssa Ultra Satin Lip in one of my more recent hauls as I love watching Kathleen Lights’ YouTube channel and I’d seen some beautiful swatches online. The ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip formula is described as being long wearing, matte and moisturising and each shade is only $6/£4.63.

The ColourPop liquid lipsticks have such sleek packaging, with a clear plastic tube and a silver metallic lid. The writing on the tube is holographic, and the applicator is a doe-foot applicator and I really like the valve within the ColourPop tubes as it does a great job at removing excess product from the applicator for a mess-free application.

Kathleen Lights created Alyssa as part of her Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Collection back in June last year which consisted of three Ultra Satin Lip colours and an eyeliner, but she has got a number of other products available on the ColourPop website which she launched previous to this collection and Kathleen named this particular shade after her goddaughter Alyssa.

Kathleen describes Alyssa as being a ‘dusky pink with a neutral undertone’ and I knew it would be my kind of shade as I love dusky pinks and mauve shades, and Kathleen wanted it to be the perfect everyday colour, and to me it really is. Alyssa is the perfect pink for my skintone as it’s not too cool or warm toned, and it compliments any makeup look as it’s a muted shade. It has a super pigmented formula, which I’ve shown above in just one single swipe of the doefoot for full opacity, and it applies so evenly and smoothly to the lips.

I find the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip formula to be considerably more forgiving than their Ultra Matte formula, as your lips need to be fully prepped prior to application with the Ultra Mattes but I don’t find that I need to do any lip prep before applying any of the Ultra Satin shades. Once on the lips it does look very shiny, but the shine does begin to disappear throughout the day to leave behind a comfortable matte finish. It’s such a beautifully wearable shade, and it’s my most worn ColourPop lip colour as I just love it so much.

Have you ever tried any of the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips? What do you think of the ColourPop Alyssa Ultra Satin Lip?
