I featured the Essence Super Precise Eyeliner within my Essence Haul which I posted on my blog back in June, and I’ve been loving it ever since I first tried it. I have tried quite a few of the Essence Eyeliners since Essence launched in the UK in June 2014. The Essence Super Precise Eyeliner is only £2.30 which is crazy for a longlasting liquid liner, and I hadn’t read any reviews prior to purchasing it so I had no idea if it was any good. I tend to prefer an eyeliner pen for lining my upper lashline, but I find liquid liners to be easier for creating winged liner, especially those with a thin, precise brush which is why I thought the Essence Liner would be well worth a try.
“precision work. the eyeliner with an extremely fine brush applicator is ideal for tracing accurate lines as well as creating broad eyeliner designs! deep black, long-lasting, waterproof – for wow-eyes!”
The liner has a super thin, flexible brush which is firm enough to give a good amount of control. The Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner used to my absolute favourite liner for a good few years, but the brush is a little too long and flexible so I always had to use a number of cotton buds to clean up my wings as it wasn’t precise enough.
The Essence Super Precise Eyeliner has the perfect brush for doing winged liner, although the formula isn’t perfect. The Rimmel Glam Eyes Liner was a super intense black, but I find that although the brush is perfect, I don’t find the Essence Liner to be completely opaque in one swipe so I have to touch up any spots where my eyelid is still visible.
Even though the formula isn’t as opaque as I wish it was, I’d still choose it over the Glam Eyes Liner as the Essence Liner is £2.30 and the Rimmel liner is £5.29 so I’d rather just touch up any bare spots and save £2.99 by buying the Essence liner, especially as the Essence formula is considerably longer lasting too.
