Mane ‘n Tail Detangler – The Tangles and Knots Solution 355ml £7.99

I’ve documented my search for the perfect detangling spray here on my blog, and I finally found it with the TIGI Bedhead Beach Freak which I raved about previously. Although it genuinely is the best detangling spray I’ve ever tried, it costs £16.25 full price for only 100ml which isn’t ideal as I do have to use quite a lot of the spray within my hair as I have super long, thick hair so I’m getting through the bottle quite quickly.

I’d been eyeing up the Mane ‘n Tail Detangler for at least a year as I’d read some really complimentary reviews but I never took the plunge and purchased it as it weirded me out to be completely honest. Mane ‘n Tail is a cult US haircare brand which was specifically targeted for show horses with long flowing manes and tails, and horse owners began using the products on their own hair after being so wowed with the results on their horses hair. The whole horse product aspect really didn’t appeal to me as I assumed it’d smell like a medicated pet treatment, which I know sounds ridiculous but I just wasn’t convinced that I needed to try a hair product designed for horses.

I was kindly sent the Mane ‘n Tail Detangler as a surprise so I decided it was the perfect oppurtunity to try it for myself, and see if it would indeed work for human hair or if it belonged on a shelf at Pets At Home. As always, I’m 100% honest so I have to admit I don’t love the packaging as it really doesn’t look like a quality human haircare product. I know the products can be used on horses and humans, but I feel like I should be neighing everytime I pick up the bottle.

So what is the Mane ‘n Tail Detangler?!

If tangles and knots are your problem, Detangler is your solution! Our exclusive pH balanced formula is easy to use and helps prevent breakage and the appearance of dry, split ends while adding additional conditioning benefits. Not only will your comb glide right through your hair but it will also become easily manageable with a rich and luxurious shine.

Detangler is Mane ‘n Tail’s secret weapon for head turning, longer, stronger, fuller and healthier hair that is guaranteed to get you noticed….even if you aren’t walking the catwalk, your hair will look as if you could! You will be amazed at how easily your hair will perform with just a touch of Detangler.

I’ve got the finest of hair, which tangles extremely easy so I always have to use a detangler whenever brushing my hair, damp or dry. I hate detanglers which leave my clean hair feeling laden with product, any that dull my shine or simply don’t work at detangling my hair. The Mane ‘n Tail Detangler doesn’t smell like a pet product which pleases me greatly as that was my primary concern. Instead it has a subtle, generic ‘clean’ scent but the scent does disappear within an hour.

With practise I’ve found that the best way to use the detangler is to spritz it through my hair and leave it for a couple of minutes before using my Wet Brush, and it really does do a remarkable job at detangling my knots both big and small. I did think it was perhaps just a detangler and I’d have to use a leave in conditioner alongside it, but I really don’t as it makes my hair feel soft, smooth and bouncy.

Due to how gentle this formula is, you can even use it on extensions and wigs which is fab and you get such an huge bottle for only £8 which is amazing value and I’m so glad I tried the range after my initial concerns as it’s a really great product, and I now fully understand the hype.
