When it comes to lip products, it feels as if Maybelline launch a new lip product collection every few weeks with Boots having 34 different lip product ranges which is a little overwhelming to say the least.
I don’t have a lot of Maybelline lipsticks in my collection but I really loved the selection of shades of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks ‘nude’ collection and I bought two of the six new shades in Peach Buff and Smokey Rose.
The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks are £6.99 each and there are so many different collections to choose from, but the new range have matte navy plastic lids in the UK but weirdly enough the same range have matte peach coloured lids in the US.
I have no idea why they have different coloured lids as it makes it even more confusing when looking instore.
“Now, our creamiest mattes meet our most flattering nudes. Infused with golden nude pigments for a warm tone, indulge in a sophisticated matte finish for our most supple nude statement.
Worried that matte lipstick with make your lips look and feel dry? Color Sensational Creamy Mattes give you matte lips that look smooth, moisturised and more plump, and feel comfortable all day.”
I really love both of the shades I bought with the Peach Buff shade being my perfect nude shade as it’s a peachy toned nude and Smoky Rose is a rosy toned nude shade.
The formula is extremely creamy and soft; so much so I thought I’d bought the wrong lipstick formula as they didn’t apply like a matte lipstick and they were shiny on first application.
They glide across the lips as smooth and evenly as a MAC Cremesheen lipstick with intense pigmentation and zero drag or chalkiness which really surprised me as I usually find drugstore matte lipsticks to be very drying and chalky.
I have to admit I don’t love the artificial sweet scent of the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks but I can overcome the scent as the formula is so decent and comfortable, and I like that they’re not a super matte formula…
Instead they’re more of a satin matte with the longevity of a matte lipstick but the comfort and flattering subtle sheen of a satin lipstick and a great buy for £6.99.
Have you ever tried the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks before?
