One of the perks as a blogger is being asked to review products on your blog and when I blogged as Miss Makeup Magpie I felt really restricted with what I could feature. I love that I now have more freedom with what products I choose to feature and I don’t have to just stick to beauty products. I never really talk about my personal life on my blog as I never felt like it was appropriate with my previous blog name. I have a chronic pain condition and I was recommended massage therapy for my problem areas by my consultant a few years ago and I had used a handheld wooden massager until recently but it wasn’t at all effective.
So when Naipo got in contact with me to see if I’d like to try one of their electronic massage devices, I knew I had to try one and I was surprised by how many different models they had to offer. As I was pretty new to the whole electronic massager concept I decided upon the Naipo Cordless Handheld Massager £34.99 but they have some really hi-tech massage devices too.
The Naipo Cordless Handheld Massager has three different attachments which are suited for different areas of the body with a deep percussion feature which kneads the pain and aches out of your body like an expert therapist.
There are five different speed levels as well as five different massage modes so you can customise your massage depending on where you’re using it and how intense you need the massage to be. I’d never even heard of a percussion massager before but it supposedly powerfully taps and knocks the body’s acupuncture points. Before trying the massager I was worried it would be too heavy for me to use it’s just over 30cm long but it only weighs 800g, and the handle has a rubberised grip which makes it really easy to hold and use.
The Naipo Cordless Handheld Massager is available to purchase through Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com depending on your location and I was worried that it might come with an international plug when purchasing through Amazon UK but luckily it comes with a UK plug so I could get started straight from the box. The massager comes with an handy little stand which holds the massager when not in use as well as the extra attachments when not in use so you can keep everything together and it contains a lithium battery which holds a charge really well.
The three attachments are fantastic as I love being able to choose which one I need depending on where I want to use it. The rounded attachment is the “Trigger Point Massage Node” which is designed for particular acupoints, mimicking shiatsu massage and relieving pains.
The three domed attachment is the “3 Point Round Massage Node” which is designed for deep tissue massage suitable for most parts of the body. Whilst the spiky looking attachment is the “Intensive Massage Node” designed for a massage on larger areas like the back, waist or legs. I personally only ever use the Trigger Point Massage Node as I feel it’s the gentlest attachment and I only use the lowest intensity but maybe with time I’ll be able to increase the intensity as I get more used to it.
I have to admit I thought the Naipo Cordless Handheld Massager would be good but I didn’t expect to be as impressed as I am with it. The wooden massager I used to use was so noisy and uncomfortable to use but this is so much quieter even with the beeps when increasing/decreasing intensities or changing modes. You can use the massager over or under clothes but I like to use it over clothes on my problem areas and I like that you don’t need to faff about with massage oils so it’s considerably easier to use.
My favourite places to use the massager are my shoulders, back and legs but you really can use it anywhere. My other half Rob used the massager on his legs after doing a ten mile run as part of his preparation for a half marathon and usually the next day he complains about the pain and stiffness in his legs but the pain and stiffness was massively reduced which really shocked him. Usually he swears by using a foam roller after a longish run which is more painful to use than the massager but the massager has been considerably more effective and he now uses it after any exercise.
Even though I only use the massager with the lowest intensity and solid massage mode (without any kneading), it makes my muscles very warm and it eases any tension or knots in a matter of minutes. I get really bad tension headaches and I’ve found this massager to be an absolute godsend on my shoulders and it makes me sleepy too which I never expected but it’s much appreciated as I really struggle to get to sleep. I have totally been converted to the power of massage therapy and I can’t believe how affordable this particular massager is considering it has so many different modes/intensities and attachments and I simply cannot recommend it enough
