Shea Moisture Fruit Infused Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve seen Shea Moisture products feature all over Instagram and blogs but I’d never tried any of their products myself until recently. When it comes to haircare, I know that sulfate free haircare products are much better for my hair and scalp but I’ve not had the best of luck when trying them previously so I wasn’t sure if they’d work for my hair. My hair and scalp are both very dry but I prefer a shampoo which is going to produce a rich lather to thoroughly cleanse my hair so it almost feels squeaky clean and they recoup any lost moisture with an hair mask.

If you’re new to the Shea Moisture, they have natural, organic and sustainably-produced hair, skin, bath and body products which are free from parabens, phtalates, mineral oil, paraffin, petroleum and formaldehyde. Ethical standards are important to Shea Moisture with their Community Commerce where they donate 10% of sales to women-led businesses, to support communities that supply ingredients for our products, or to support The Sofi Tucker Foundation.

Shea Moisture have many different haircare ranges but I’ve been trialling the Shea Moisture Fruit Infused Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo and Conditioner which are designed for those with fine, wavy and curly hair which is pretty much my hair in a (coco)nutshell.  Both the shampoo and conditioner contain 384ml and cost £9.99 each from Superdrug, which is pricier than the majority of haircare products within the drugstore but the bottles are almost double the size too.

The shampoo has quite a watery consistency for a shampoo which I guess is down to the coconut water and I was surprised by how little product I needed to thoroughly wash my hair as I usually need a golf ball sized amount of shampoo for my thick, waist length hair. With the Shea Moisture Fruit Infused Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo I only needed half of that and it lathered beautifully which surprised me again as I expected the lathering action to be quite mediocre but it’s quite the contrary.

The conditioner is also quite watery and the only downside for me is that the pump dispenses only a tiny amount so I have to pump around 12 times for enough product to evenly coat my hair. I did wonder if the conditioner would be hydrating enough for my dry hair but it really has surpassed my expectations although I do wish the lovely coconut scent lingered for a little longer but that and the pump are the only criticisms I have but I can totally overlook them as they’re so minor.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried any Shea Moisture products? Do you have any specific product recommendations as I’d love to explore more from the brand.
