Sol de Janeiro Beauty - Bum Bum Cream - Brazilian Kiss - Brazilian 4 Play Review

If you watch a lot of beauty YouTube videos, I’m pretty certain you’ll have seen the Sol de Janeiro Beauty range feature many times, especially the iconic Brazilian Bum Bum Cream which is appearing in endless monthly beauty favourites videos. I had no idea that we could get our hands on the Sol de Janeiro beauty range here in the UK, but amazingly enough we can thanks to Cult Beauty which is very exciting as we can now see what the hype is all about for ourselves.

Sol de Janeiro are an US based beauty brand which share the Brazilian beauty secrets worldwide with their luxurious, transformative line which incorporates the latest and greatest super ingredients from the Amazon. The packaging is so bold and vibrant which I love as it feels so summery and tropical even on a gloomy British day.

Sol de Janiero Beauty Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 240ml £44

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is our absolutely addictive full body cream inspired by the Brazilians’ favourite feature—the bum bum (or as you probably call it the bottom, the butt or la derriére.) Pronounced as boom boom in Brazil, the bum bum is a nation – wide obsession. It’s all about the bum bum in Brazil, and that’s why we have the smallest bikinis in the world and the best fitting jeans.

Beautiful Brazilian bottoms have a special secret, a cream, rich in Guaraná, a native Amazonian plant whose fruit contains one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet. Together with our Brazilian Beauty Blend of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí and Coconut Oil; Guaraná caffeine helps stimulate circulation and keep posteriors their smoothest, tightest and positively most pinchable.

This is without a doubt the most talked about product within the range and the one I was most excited to try as everyone has raved about its efficacy and hypnotising scent. The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has a thick consistency which reminds me of the Soap & Glory Righteous Butter texture wise, but it absorbs amazingly well into the skin without any tackiness whatsoever whereas the Righteous Butter takes ages to fully absorb.

You could even apply the cream all over your hands if you wanted to as it doesn’t feel at all sticky or greasy. I am so surprised by how rich and intensely hydrating this cream is considering how quickly it absorbs, but it has an instant softening effect on the skin which lasts even into the next day. It’s not something you would have to necessarily reapply every day as it’s so effective at hydrating the skin which will hopefully mean the pot will last. It has an incredible pistachio caramel scent which lasts on my skin upto six hours, and it smells almost identical to the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille scent so if you like gourmand scents, you’ll adore this.

Not only does the Bum Bum Cream leave the skin feeling amazing, it is left looking amazing too as it contains mica to give the skin a glow worthy of Ipanema Beach. I was worried the shimmer would make me look like a disco ball but it’s the tiniest shimmer particles possible which just make the skin glow rather than looking shimmery or glittery.

It makes the skin look so much nicer and healthier, and it genuinely does tighten the skin. I’ve tried endless products that claim to tighten the skin but none of them ever do so I expected to add this to the long list of products which don’t deliver their claims, but it truly works and is in my opinion very much worth the hype.

Sol de Janeiro Beauty Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter £15

“Sensuous Brazilian lips have a secret, a lip butter infused with nourishing Cupuaçu, Açaí and Coconut Oil, leaving them soft and delicious, with a dewy sheen that intensifies your natural lip color and feels like no other. For lips meant to kiss. The Brazilian Beijo, our kiss, is a full-on, full-body experience that begins with the lips and takes over like a Rio wave.”

I had no idea Sol de Janeiro beauty even did a lip butter, and definitely not one as big as this. The tube is massive and contains an impressive 6.2g so yes £15 might sound like a high price for a lip butter, but the likes of the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Balm only contains 3.7g and costs £20 so the Sol de Janeiro Lip Butter is considerably better value, and it’s much better too in my opinion. Due to the size of the balm you can apply it to both lips at the same time, and it’s colourless so it doesn’t matter if it goes outside the lipline as it’ll hydrate the surrounding the skin.

It has a Brazilian Caramel scent which is similar to the Bum Bum cream but not as sickly, but it doesn’t have a taste. Until now the NUXE Reve de Miel has been my favourite lipbalm, but the Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter is my new favourite as it’s very lightweight on the lips, but intensively hydrating making it ideal to prep the lips prior to applying your chosen lip colour.

Sol de Janeiro Beauty Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream Gel 385ml £21

• Gently nourishes and cleanses
• Infused with Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Beauty Blend of nourishing Cupuaçu Butter, antioxidant superpower Açaí and skin conditioning Coconut Oil
• Luxurious in feel with a rich, creamy lather, cushiony texture and delicious Pistachio Caramel fragrance
• Leaves skin super soft, irresistibly smooth and always ready 4 play!

After falling in love with the Sol de Janeiro Beauty Bum Bum Cream, I couldn’t wait to try the matching shower cream gel as I love being able to layer my scents, so I hoped the shower gel followed by the cream would really intensify the delicious pistachio caramel fragrance.

I didn’t expect the shower gel to come in such a big bottle, but I like how they’ve done an almost teardrop shaped bottle which makes it easy to hold in the shower even with wet hands as you don’t want to be dropping a 385ml bottle on your foot. I always prefer shower cream formulas over shower gels as I find them to be more hydrating on my dry skin, and this is a white rich cream, with a little going a long way especially if you use a shower puff.

It feels so luxurious and creamy on the skin to leave it feeling soft, hydrated and smooth whilst also smelling out of this world and it really does help to intensify the fragrance when layered with the matching Bum Bum Cream. I’m dying to try the matching body fragrance next as I love this delicious sweet scent but I’ve loved three out of three products so I know I’d love the rest of the Sol de Janeiro beauty range. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know I’m somewhat hard to please but I couldn’t rave about this trio enough and I really do think they’re worth the crazy hype they’re currently getting online.

Have you ever tried any of the Sol de Janeiro Beauty products?
