The ELF Beauty Shield Collection is ELF’s newest skincare collection which combines antioxidants and SPF to protect and prevent against environmental aggressors such as pollutants, dust and smoke. The collection is available exclusively online on both the UK and US ELF websites, and I featured the ELF Beauty Shield Skin Shielding Moisturiser previously on my blog back in August. The Beauty Shield Collection may be a skincare collection, but they recently introduced a range of lipsticks in five different shades and I have the ELF Beauty Shield Dusty Rose Lipstick.
ELF say;
This satin lipstick provides rich pigmented colour with nourishing ingredients. Formulated with key antioxidants, sunflower seed oil, pomegranate seed oil and vitamins B and E to help minimise the appearance of fine lines, hydrate and protect your lips against everyday environmental aggressors.
The packaging of the ELF Beauty Shield Dusty Rose Lipstick £7.50 is so pretty for such a budget brand, with a very reflective holographic finish on the outside of the lipstick and the lipstick bullet itself is rounded and quite thin so it allows for a nicely precise application. Considering the Beauty Shield Collection is a skincare collection, I assumed that the Beauty Shield Lipstick would be more of a tinted lipbalm than a lipstick but the ELF Beauty Shield Dusty Rose Lipstick is a lot more pigmented than I expected with almost full opacity in just one swipe.
Dusty Rose is exactly that, a dusty rose which is my kind of shade and it feels balmy on the lips. I don’t love the citrus scent but it doesn’t linger on the lips so it doesn’t bother me too much, but I’d much prefer a subtle vanilla scent like the majority of the ELF lip products. This lipstick offers colour, comfort and hydration and for £7.50 it’s a great budget buy, and if this shade isn’t your colour there are also a nude, red, berry and bright pink too.
