Glossybox October 2017 Unboxing and First Impressions
I have no idea how it’s October but it is which means it’s time for the Glossybox October 2017 edit. This month’s Glossybox subscribers were given the option to plump for #TeamUnicorn or #TeamMermaid and their box will feature either unicorn or mermaid depending on which they chose. I was sent a box at random and I got the Mermaid box which is the prettiest Glossybox design I’ve ever seen with a turquoise and purple ombréd design – you can see the Unicorn design over on Musings of a Makeup Junkie too.
This month Glossybox are giving us the chance to purchase a sweatshirt in either ‘Mermaid’ or ‘Unicorn’ from their website which is a really cute idea, but they’re very limited so make sure you keep an eye on their Instagram account to see when they launch and for more information but the sweatshirts are lovely with ombréd stitching across the front and a little Glossybox logo on the back. To match the Unicorn/Mermaid theme, the box also contains brightly coloured beauty treats….
Makeup Revolution Mermaids Vs. Unicorns Eyeshadow Palette worth £4
This palette is very apt for a unicorn/mermaid themed beauty box and contains twelve brightly coloured eyeshadows in a mixture of matte, shimmer and glitter shades. Makeup Revolution are such a popular brand right now so it’s great to see them in a mainstream beauty box as they’ve only ever been featured in the fabulous British Beauty Blogger beauty boxes until now. This palette isn’t for the faint-hearted but if you have any bright Halloween makeup looks planned, this palette could come in handy.
Kawaii Enterprise Brush Cleansing Egg worth £7.99
The Mermaid box got a turquoise brush egg in this month’s box and the Unicorn boxes got a pink one from what I’ve seen online. It’s a rubber egg which you place over two fingers underneath a running tap with raised texture to loosen makeup and grime from your brushes to deep clean them. I already have a couple of these but if you don’t have one already you’ll love it as it really does help to clean your brushes plus it comes in an holographic pouch which I love.
Sleek MakeUP Crème to Powder Blush worth £5.99
We’ve had a few Sleek MakeUP items in past Glossybox’s but I don’t mind too much as I love Sleek as a brand and I already own one of these blushes in the shade French Rose which I love. I got the shade Pink Peony which is a super bold pink but I’m not sure if other boxes will get different shades as there are a total of six shades in the range. I am a big fan of cream blushes as they’re so easy to apply and I find they’re more flattering for my dry skin.
Lord & Berry Magic Brow Perfect Eye Brow Pencil full size is worth £14 (this is a sample size)
This is a marbleised brow pencil which supposedly works for *all* brows. It’s a pretty small pencil considering it’s full size and I don’t know if it will work for all brows as I already own it and it’s pretty dark so I really don’t think it will work for dark blondes or anyone lighter. I do like using brow pencils generally though as they’re quick and easy to use especially when you’re short on time but this is definitely a unique idea if you can make it work for you.
This month it looks like the fifth item was changed at the very last minute as it was supposed to be the Sport FX Candy Gloss Moisturising Lip Balm but that’s now been scrapped and it’s the now the Bang Beauty Cream Color which was the “November Sneak Peak” on the menu card. I don’t have either item to show you but I’m intrigued to see what everyone makes of the new item.
