I never do beauty favourites on my blog as I don’t have enough products every month that I can call “favourites” as I’m constantly trying new products all of the time, especially makeup and skincare. Haircare products aren’t the kinda products I chop and change very much, and I have some real favourites which aren’t just for this month, they’re my current haircare favourites so I thought I’d share them in an Haircare Favourites 2017 post. I do still try a hell of a lot of haircare products, but these products have all impressed me enough for me to continue to them for weeks, months and even years for some.
The first two products go hand in hand, and they really are the dream detangling duo. The Wet Brush is my absolute favourite hairbrush and I couldn’t ever imagine my haircare routine without one. I’ve tried endless hairbrushes but nothing compares to The Wet Brush in my opinion and when used alongside the TIGI Bed Head Beach Freak Moisturising Detangler Spray they work amazingly well. I have very fine, waist length hair which becomes tangled extremely easily and I suffer from PCOS, which means I experience a considerable amount of hair loss everytime I wash my hair.
I do have a lot of hair but over the last two years I’ve noticed the hair on the sides of my head has thinned dramatically which really gets me down. There are products you can use to ‘colour in’ your scalp to mimic the appearance of hair but I always worry about them running as soon as it rains. In an ideal world I’d love to be able to afford an hair transplant depending on the FUE hair transplant cost, to try and fill my thinning patches with stronger, healthier follicles. The Wet Brush and the TIGI Beach Freak Detangler help to detangle my hair with minimum hair fall out, and minimum tugging of my sensitive scalp.
I’ve tried a fair few different hair straighteners from £29 to £250 and my standout favourites have to be the T3 Single Pass X Hair Straightners. As I mentioned above, my hair is very thick so I always have to section it off if I want to straighten it and because it’s naturally wavy, I have to go over each piece of hair multiple times which is less than ideal. The T3 Single Pass X styler genuinely straightens each piece of hair in one single pass thus cutting my styling time by at least half, and minimising heat damage. The plates are super shiny and smooth too, so they glide over the hair without pulling or tugging, and they’re lightweight to use also.
My last favourites are the newest additions to my haircare routine, but I’ve been really impressed as they’re so affordable. The Superdrug Avocado and Manuka Honey Haircare range consists of three different products; shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner and they’re only £3.99 each. They smell incredible and leave my hair feeling really soft, bouncy and shiny without feeling weighed down. They also leave my hair smelling amazing for upto 24 hours post-wash which is pretty good going for an under £4 a piece haircare range.
