PUR Cosmetics are such an underrated brand within the beauty community and I’m not even sure why. They were known as PUR Minerals but they’re rebranded relatively recently and are known now as PUR Cosmetics and I’ve been a fan for at least three years, and reviewed their Secret Crush Eyeshadow Palette here on my blog back in March of last year.
The whole PUR Cosmetics collection is available in larger Marks & Spencer stores as well as their website and they currently stock some amazing looking PUR Cosmetics gift sets if you’re new to the brand and unsure where to begin product wise. I’ve been trialling one of the brand’s bestselling products recently; the PUR No Filter Blurring Photography Primer £24 which I’ve never seen/heard mentioned before on blogs or in YouTube videos so I had no preconceived ideas on what to expect.
I do always look for reviews prior to purchasing anything beauty related, but sometimes it’s fun to try products I’ve never heard of so I can have my own experiences without thinking about what others have said so I couldn’t wait to give this primer a try as I need all of the blurring I can get.
PUR Cosmetics say;
Moisturise, color balance, prime and illuminate the skin in one step. This unique primer with prismatic blurring micro-pearls helps to color correct while age-defying skin care ingredients nourishes the skin and a vitamin-rich Energy Complex with moisturising agave and essential fatty acids prep the skin for makeup application.
Loaded with essential oils like Coconut, Olive, and Shea a drop of this into your foundation will result in a dewy yet shine-free finish that boosts radiance and masks imperfections for a picture-perfect complexion.
- The benefits of a beauty oil (olive oil, coconut oil, shea oil and crambe abyssinica seed oil), illuminating serum and makeup primer in one easy step
- Ultra-hydrating and improves appearance and texture of skin fast absorbing, non-greasy and does not cause excess shine, soft, luminescent prismatic pearls instantly boost radiance and blurs the appearance of imperfections

- Age-defying ingredients like Ceretin Complex®, Combined with good-for-your-skin antioxidants, each of PÜR’s products corrects and perfects the skin
The PUR No Filter Blurring Photography Primer is packaged within a 15ml iridescent silver glass bottle with a pipette style dispenser within the lid. When I first got the primer I was surprised that the bottle only contained 15ml as primers tend to be around the 20-30ml mark but a little goes a very long way due to the thinner consistency which I guess is down to the multiple oils within the formula.
The primer is a slightly thin liquid similar to a liquid highlighter than a typical primer so it glides over the skin amazingly well. The amount shown in the swatch photo above is just two generous drops and it covered nearly my whole hand in the blended swatch so I find I only need around three drops to evenly cover my face.
The PUR No Filter Blurring Photography Primer is a pale cream colour with a golden iridescence and it doesn’t impart any colour to the skin, only a beautiful luminous glow. It feels lovely and hydrating on the skin which I didn’t expect but it’s a very welcome benefit as my skin’s so incredibly dry right now with the changing seasons, and it feels as hydrating as an hydrating primer.
I particularly enjoy using this primer underneath cakier foundations which are harder to blend, as this primer really helps foundation to mesh with the skin better, and you can even apply a drop to your Beauty Blender as well as your foundation to create a beautifully radiant complexion.
Not only can you wear the PUR No Filter Blurring Photography Primer under your foundation or mix it with your foundation, you can also apply it over the top of your finished makeup as an illuminator too. I don’t think I’ve ever used such a versatile primer before but I absolutely love it. It makes my skin look so glowy and radiant but in a natural, not used 100 different products kind of way but you can be a little more generous with your application for a greater glow.
It makes my skin look good, feel good and keeps my makeup looking its best a lot longer than it would if I wasn’t using it as a primer. I really think this primer would be amazing for any YouTuber’s as it does subtly blur the skin, which would work perfectly in videos.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from PUR Cosmetics? What do you think of this primer?
