I featured the fantastic L’Occitane Standard Advent Calendar on my blog at the beginning of November and revealed that I will be showcasing the L’Occitane Luxury Advent Calendar also so you can compare the contents of them both and see which is your favourite. The standard calendar really is amazing but this is the first year L’Occitane have created two different advent calendars, their standard version which they did last year and new exciting luxury version.
The L’Occitane Luxury Advent Calendar is £89 whilst the contents are worth £129 which is such great value and I’m going to be revealing the contents of the calendar so please don’t read any further if you don’t want to know which items are inside.
The L’Occitane Luxury Advent Calendar is a lot bigger and heavier than the standard calendar and is a large yellow box with a flap which pulls down to reveal 24 individual drawers. Each of the drawers have a number on the front and when you pull it from the calendar, it has a usage tip for the product within the drawer on the side and the drawers when turned the other way create a beautiful Christmas tree image.
This calendar feels a lot more substantial in comparison as the standard calendar has perforated doors which you peel back to reveal the product inside. Whereas this calendar has sliding drawers with the product wrapped in L’Occitane tissue paper which feels a little more special to open so if you like the whole experience factor with an advent calendar, I think this one really does feel luxurious.

There is only a small amount of overlap of products between the two advent calendars but that’s to be expected as they only have a certain amount of products, and they tend to choose their bestselling most popular products for the calendars. The main difference between the standard calendar and the L’Occitane Luxury Advent Calendar is that this calendar contains a great selection of their luxury skincare products which are all more expensive products.
I think this calendar is amazing way to be able to try lots of the L’Occitane products in very generous sample sizes so you can test everything before purchasing full sizes. From the standard calendar last year, I ended up purchasing the full size of three products within the calendar because I loved it so much.
I think £89 is a great price for this calendar when you consider the standard calendar is £49. There’s absolutely no doubt that they’re both fabulous advent calendars for any age but the luxury calendar really does make you feel special as you unwrap your ‘gift’ each day. I love that because you get such a fantastic selection within the calendar, you could always keep any products you won’t use and give them as Christmas gifts.
My favourite products from this calendar would have to be the Ultra Rich Lip Balm (an absolute godsend for winter), the Almond Supple Skin Oil and Divine Cream but there isn’t one product I wouldn’t use in all 24 drawers, and there aren’t any ‘filler’ items either just 24 amazing L’Occitane treats.
I’d love to know which of the two L’Occitane calendars is your favourite? What’s your favourite L’Occitane product? You can purchase it here.
